My 2016 Tacoma Off Road goes into the dealers to change bulbs in 3rd brake light/bed light.
It looks like they have to take down some part of the Head Liner to get to bulbs. Has any one had this done on theirs ? Has any one come up with a Modification to make this a do it your self fix in the future.

    Thanks Tom C.

Aren’t there two screws on the side of the lens that comes off the outside? I have the access cab and would think it would be similar. If I’m wrong then I’m wrong.

Thanks for the reply. the owners manual say it has to go back to dealer There are no out side excise screws. The headliner has to come down

Access cabs have screws and you open it from the outside. Double cabs require dropping the rear headliner. Might want to just get a new brake light being you have a 16. Tons of those on the double cabs leaked and cause all kinds of damage. Mostly 2016-2017 models. Toyota has since changed the part.

Interesting. My '21 TRD OR AC has 2 screws from the exterior.
EDIT: Glad I have an Access Cab then.
