3rd brake light + bed light?

Seen a bunch of third gen Tacomas that have a bed light integrated in the third tail light on the top of the cab. Do we have any option like this for second gen's?

Nope, got to make your own. Gen 3 access cabs have the same light as the Gen 2’s.

 

Any tutorials or resources you can post? And is there a 3-position switch like the 3rd gens we can use in a factory blank?

Edit: Oh, if they use the same light as the 3rd gens, could I just get a 3rd gen light and install that and figure out wiring instead of building my own?

 

Gen 3 double cabs come with a different third brake light that has the bed lights. They mount from the inside so you have to drop the headliner to access the hardware, Gen 3 access cabs have the same light as the Gen 2’s with the mounting hardware accessible from the outside but as you know they don’t have bed lights. I bought a clear lens and red and white led panels and made my own. I wired the bed lights to the dome light.

Exactly what I was about to suggest unless he’s adamant about rear facing.

First gen tundras 3rd brake light come with bed lights w/ switch. Anybody wanna be Guinea pig? Cabs and switch blanks are very similar.

I have a tonneau cover so installed a cheap Amazon light couple years ago. Amazing that the cheap stuff holds up when there not exposed to the elements
