3rd Brake Light Bulb?

I've got a ARE Overland shell on order and before I install it I was wondering if anyone knows if we get an error light when the bulb for the 3rd brake light burns out.

A friend of mine installed a shell on his Dodge truck and his tail light went out, which triggered a warning on his dash and he can't change the bulb without removing the shell. Just want to know if I should throw a LED bulb in prior to installing the shell so I can put that off as long as possible.
