Wow that sucks, they should have covered it and anyone having the problem since it was a known issue.

Hey! Your brake light looks exactly like mine. I discovered the leak when I was trying to manage my topper/ truck bed leak thanks to the shit design of the bed. Both are still leaking at the moment. I’ve had the truck for 6 days. 2016 double cab with 36k miles. Shoulda never sold my 5th gen 4Runner!!!!

Sigh..... add me to the list. My 2017 just started leaking. Dealership says it's out of warranty for this repair.

Go get some black butyl tape. Clean it well, and try to squish the stuff between your light and cab as best as you can. I used grey because it’s what I had on hand and I just wanted to fix my problem. I have a topper, so I don’t care what it looks like right now. Start with a little bit, add more as you see fit. You won’t even notice black if you do a good job.

Butyl tape is crazy stuff. A lot of people use it for rooftop vents on campers.

This is very similar to what I did. I went ahead and ordered the new version to get a more permanent fix. But this will due for now. Thanks for the pic.
