I did it, I broke the 3rd light cover loading up my canoe after a great evening paddle. Is this a easy fix? The two light are fine, just cracked the cover on the right / passenger side. Any advice?

Probably just need to get it replaced, as it will leak especially if you have the double cab. Maybe just some clear packing tape in the meantime?

If its water tight and doesnt bother you then leave it. If it isnt or it just looks too ugly for you, buy a new lens or get an entirely new OEM/aftermarket housing. I replaced mine immediately with aftermarket and i love the smoked look+ LEDs.

Water will get inside so you need to address this. Search the threads for how to change it out because on double cabs you have to drop the headliner to access the mounting nuts.

Except access cabs are the same as the Gen 2's where the screws are exposed outside. Go figure!

I can't imagine why they would be different. On my 2nd gen it would have been a 1 minute job. This truck it's looking like a trip to the dealership.

@mesojdm has custom third lights and has partnered with kc and i cant remember the other company. They are fairly priced and a massive upgrade.

    all tore up already
Which is good but why does the working man's version(6' bed) not have a cargo light when the family version does?

Like the title OP, unless it's a typo. Broken brake light is no fun, breaks in that brake light can break all kinds of bad things when it leaks

What did you upgrade to?? Link?.

OP - Don't feel bad. I did the same thing. Only cracked my lens. I actually think the crack is a defect but I loaded my kayak on my short rack and put a small ding in the roof about a foot away from the light so going to be hard for me to claim it a defect.

I bought a stock replacement brand new OEM from Toyota was about $110 shipped or something like that. Check ebay - if you need a part number hit me up I'll look for it.

I ordered mine but haven't replaced it yet. Was thinking to take it apart and add in much brighter LED for bed light so when douche bag behind me has high beams on I can flash em with it.

Some folks have complained about that light leaking and fucking up interior carpets. So if you start to smell mildew/mold better get it fixed.
Here's what mine looks like and I think its a defect not my fault. I think...
