3rd degree burns, how to treat it at home??

Corey, if it was third degree the skin would be pale white and leathery or black and it would not hurt because the nerves are burnt. If it that bad and as big as you describe you may eventually need a skin graft.....That skin won't heal....If it is red, blistery, painful it is probably 2nd degree burn and it will heal if it doesn't get infected.....

If it's a 3rd degree burn you should go to the Dr. If not, I had a really bad 2nd degree burn on my leg from a Motorcycle. Took almost 1/2 a tube of neosporin a day changing the bandage 3 times a day and it still seeped green ooz for a few weeks through the dressing. Got a scar the size of a grapefruit on my calf. If you think it's 3rd degree you should go, 2nd degree can even be really bad.

 

Don't forget the blow torch to cauterize that stub.... Then head to the Doctor so he can check out your handy work

 

I got a third degree burn on my leg several years ago, and it was bad enough to the point where i had a chance of losing my leg if it wasnt treated immediently. But it was super deep. I got a skin graft.

Go to a doctor.

 

Third degree burns means the skin is dead- same as if it was an open wound of the same size. It will not heal on its own if it is as big as you said and will get infected. Go to a doctor.

 

Honestly man after getting past the bone your body would most likely have so many and so much feel good hormones, adrenaline dopamine etc, pumping trough you that you probably wouldn't feel much for a while and would most likely not be bleeding. It's amazing what the human body can do after major trauma like an amputation, it amazes me so much that I spend about 30-40 hours a week going to school and studying to be a nurse. OP seriously GO TO THE FUCKING DOCTOR! Don't play around with stuff like this!

There is a reason 3rd degrees often get skin grafts.

i got a pretty bad burn on the inside of my pinky from 4th of july haha and idk what degree burn it was...never hurt just annoying as puck cuz i couldn't bend my finger at all for about a week cuz the blister was about the size of a dime and a 1/4 inch tall haha.

but go the the doc just to make sure its all ways the best thing to do thats for sure
