I didn't think it looked all that bad, but all of the oozing towards the top is what had me worried. Especially if he hasn't been wrapping it.

I wrapped it for work today, but I left work after two hours to see my dad. He can't see me till twelve though. My mom told me to leave it unwrapped. I don't know why she said that, but it's unwrapped now.

Leaving it unwrapped for short periods of time is ok - it helps air it out.

Let us know what your dad says.

Silvadine is what they will use at the ER.

OP, you need to see a MD about that. Not an Urgent Care, if you have a major hospital close go there. Infection is the big worry.

Right before you go to the Dr. rub some used oil and dirt on it. Every doctor deserves a challenge.

Man I burned myself way worse than that and went to trucks gone wild the next day. It was so cold outside that steam was coming off my arm where I burnt it. I had to sleep with my arm hanging off my bed because it just constantly drained. I never saw a doctor never applied any ointment and I was told the worst thing you can do for a burn is wrap it because that traps all the heat in. I mean this burn went to the meat had a red blistered ring around it than a lighter red sore ring around that and my elbow and surrounding skin was black. I survived there's hope for you. I saw one comment earlier to drink your own piss.... I feel like that would help out a lot.

You're good man. Just let her do her own thing. My motto is if they didn't treat it in the 1600's and people lived than you don't need to do anything now.

In the 1600's the life expectancy was half of what it is now too.

Yes, let it air out periodically and after a few days when you're in the shower, let water run over it quite a bit to flush it out. Might even wanna pick up some saline solution and walgreens or something. It took my leg about a month and half to heal to where it was "skin" again. happened in july, it's november now and it's purple/grayish.

    ^don't listen to this hardass.

I love Urgent Care places. You get seen almost immediately and the doctors at the ones here are awesome, and will do just about everything the hospital will do.

The chance of staph is less too.

Well we got some good news from my dad. He said it's actually healing pretty well and there are no 3rd deg. burns just strong 2nd degree. He gave me a prescription for some silvadene, too.

You should still go to the doctor. If infection sets in and gets too bad you might have to get it amputated, and I am not joking here. Go to the doctor for anything more than a 1st degree burn.
