No to both but what the market dictates and what I think are two separate things...after 5 years or so is probably when a 3rd gen could be considered to have "good" resell value...1st gens and 2and gens are old but get good money for what they are. They would have had the same issue if they tried to sell their trucks when only a year or 2 old. The 2020 models only hurt all previous 3rd gens as well

Thats actually a good point on the 2020's, while minor those upgrades are ideal for prospective buyers, LED lights, leather, power seats, etc.

Was enough to move me into another turd gen. Apple carplay though insignificant is amazing, same with the LEDs.

Both of you are correct to an extent.

But I challenge you to find a MGM Long Bed OR in New England. Several 50K mileage stock trucks in my area are hovering between $30-35k.

It’s only a good deal if you wanted to buy a stock truck and do the same mods ($10,000-$12,000 in just parts / double that if somebody can’t do it at home).

Just like any other market, it’s only a good deal if it’s what the buyer’s looking for.

I’ve had two offers in the last 6-mos and won’t sell.

Except I can walk into any dealer and probably get a similar spec'd truck (DCLB OR MGM) for less than $38k or just at and build how I want with WAY less miles and a warranty, mods no matter how much you spent never add value. I extremely doubt you got 2 offers for your high mileage modded truck at $38k that or they were just complete morons.

I never claimed offers of $38K. Been offered what I said -$33ish twice.
I’m not sure why you feel the need to be confrontational, but I don’t intend to change your mind.

Just calling B.S. is all, not confrontational at all, end of the day, your truck according to blue book, NADA, etc. is no where near worth $33k.

Haha haha ... From a guy who claims to wheel, wrench on, and “build” Tacomas - since when does window tint and Billy 5100’s count as a build? YOU ARE A CLOWN!

The mod discussion is an interesting debate. Mods can retain some of their value if done correctly and maintained correctly but not on new vehicles in general.

My Jeep in stock form actually almost doubled it's retail value from what I bought it for back in the 90s and the modifications to it have also increased it's value, granted this doesn't include labor but at some point you can get some decent value out of some mods.

Keep looking "CLOWN", or is reading hard for you?, see the different coilovers and UCAS on my 15, 11, and 01, all of the work was done by me and a friend in driveway / garage. So ya shut your mouth.

Nothing to see but an ignorant individual who can't read or look a bit further down my build page and thinks his high mileage 3 year old truck is worth $33k.
