Ok, I figured you still tried to use the bleeder pump.

For a one person job, cut a 2x4 and place between the brake pedal and seat bracket. Slide the seat forward to depress and hold the brake pedal then key on and open the bleeder. I didn't try this but in theory it should work :fingerscrossed:

You CAN bleed the brake lines without an OBDII scanner.

Now I'm m really confused.... accordingly to the shop manual (Step 4) the master cylinder needs to be bled if a brake line gets disconnected and this requires a Techstream or OBDII scanner. Am I mistaken? Either way I plan on getting a bluetooth OBDII scanner since I will be going through remote areas, far away from a Toyota dealer.

Good question. It says "If the brake line is disconnected from the brake master cylinder"

Just did my brake lines all the way around on my 2019 OffRoad. You can bleed without a scan tool. Just have to use a specific sequence with the start button to have the brakes basically bleed themselves through the electronic controlled brake cylinder. It’s in a thread on here somewhere. I did it with the intention of if it doesn’t work I’ll use my AAA but it worked great!

I'm getting ready to do mine. I read through what @splitbolt posted in the earlier thread. What order did you do for the wheels? Just based on length of lines (longest to shortest), I think it's:
    • Passenger Rear
    • Driver Rear
    • Passenger Front
    • Driver Front
Wanted to check what you did though and how much fluid you went through. I have Techstream just in case but doesn't sound like I'll need to use it. I have done plenty of brake bleeds on cars with regular boosters so plan is to not screw up this one.

Your order is correct. I went through almost 2 full large bottles of fluid. But I did a little extra for a little more of a flush.

Yep, two quarts just barely does it.
If you waste even a little bit, you'll come up short with only two bottles.

Holy cow. 3-32oz bottles (or at least 2x32oz + 1x16oz) it is. Getting ready to do mine this weekend. Still reading a lot of conflicting posts on here regarding bleeding on OR/Pro so I'll start with just the line bleed procedure and do Techstream step if needed. Gives me a chance to adjust the rear drums too.

Rear drums self adjust if you don’t feel like adjusting. Just pump that hand brake approximately 1 billion times.
