3rd gen: 265/70/17 tires look small, is that the largest tire?

I've seen a thread about putting 265's on 17" stock rims with no lift, but that seems really small. I have an FJ80 Landcruiser with stock height, and I'm running 285's on that were also supposed to rub but run fine. Does anyone know for sure how big of BFG T/A KO2's I can run without rubbing? I need the clearance for almost daily off-road since it's a work truck.
