Oh. This is for 4x4 only right? A part of the rubber is cut out to accommodate a piece of the suspension that is mounted higher on 4x4 than the rwd model. Rats.

you can modify the template in any way you'd like. to my understanding this fits the 4x4 model, but if you print out the template onto paper and see where you're missing material, it's easy enough to add tape or something to create a new template.

The most important part is the location of the mounting holes. if those line up - you can shape the template in any way you'd like/ fits your needs

I should have done this, instead I taught myself a lesson about "measure twice cut once" and had eagerly cut the rubber all too early, just spend the last three hours cutting and shaping cardboard and made a new template, will do photos when it's done.

Finally installed my DYI splash guards.

    Material:
Rubber mat: $15 at Home Depot (link)
Push Pins: $20 on Amazon. (link)

I added a little bit more material by the front hole. You can see in one picture below that the pin is right on the edge. The template provided was a great start and much help but there might be some slight alterations needed. Thanks for the template!
I drilled the holes out slightly to better fit the new plugs.

I printed the template on 6 11x17 papers. I cropped the template and I used the "poster" option with "cut marks" option to line everything up perfectly. I attached the 6 page (11x17 paper) document with the cut marks. Make sure you print to "actual size". Also attached the cropped PDF of the template.

Also repainted the frame in the front around the suspension. More rust removal!

Does anyone have any other links for a different mat? Ive looked at my home depots and Amazon and cant really find an equivalent for the same price.

Woah, this is too good of a install video

but at 1:40 which holes is the template missing? Just the top front on the driver side?
I've not been able to verify the template 100% for the second gens but it seems to fit almost perfectly in there other than the missing mounting locations
also added your description links for the materials if you don't mind :fistbump:

seen that you figured that one out, somehow didn't see the notification for the thread...
updated the first page to include your links and video!

I don't believe there is a difference between the 4wd and 2wd - but i cannot say that for certain that it's the same.
if you give it an hour, you can print out the template and take a quick look for yourself to see if things line up. Give us a heads up if you try it, i'd like to add in a disclaimer on the first post if there is a difference between the two

Added to the first post, thanks bud!

Also to everyone else, thanks for the help with links to materials, the clips, photos, and videos. It's pretty awesome to see the guide getting the traction it got:fistbump:

I've gone and updated the guide #1 and template printing #2 posts on the first page to try and re-organize it to appear a bit more coherent.

revised it all to have the links talked about in the thread to allow people to easily find the materials used and it shows what to do with a body lift on your truck as this does change the templates design.

IF THERE IS ANYTHING MISSING, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
    this includes and is not limited to;
Is the 2x4 version of the Tacoma (2nd and 3rd gen) the same as the 4X4 versions?

thank you! Yeah there was just a few holes on the top nothing too difficult to figure out after the template was put together. I also added a few more inches of material to the front where it changes from 2nd to 3rd gens. this link however is the first one i ordered and realized that it was 3in by 8ft not 3ft by 8ft like i thought Rubber Sheet Warehouse .125" (1/8") Thick x 3" Wide x 10' Feet -Neoprene Solid Rubber Strip NOT for Cosmetic Purposes Perfect for Weather Stripping, Gasket, Costume & DIY Projects so I got the other one i linked in the video instead

So I am having issues printing the template. I do not have adobe to print the "Poster" way. And when I did print it it seemed to scale down about 25% so I am missing a lot of the lines and holes. Anyone else have this issue? Also I am not that tech savvy.
