Hey forum members ... just saying hello and establishing an account while I try to track down a 1st Gen Tacoma.

Used to have a 2002 Tacoma that I loved, but sold it around ’08 when moving cross-country to New York (and didn't want to destroy a mint Taco). Moving back to the West Coast in ’13 I scored a great 2001 4Runner that I spend a lot of my time in the backcountry with, but now age & injuries are catching up and I'd like to get a pop-up camper.

Specifically looking for a 1st Gen w/ extended cab, 4x4 w/ locking rear diff., automatic, and low miles. Basically what a million people are probably looking for!

Anyway, thanks for having me and hopefully I can track down something soon and become a regular part of the community.

Welcome. Yep, looked for a good deal on a used one for two years and gave up: They cost almost as much as a new one. An old one? Pricing was even more shocking.

Well ... spent a lot of time & effort tracking down a 1st Gen and the truck gods smiled on me big time yesterday. Got an amazing deal from the previous owner who was great to work with. In less than 24 hours it was posted on Craigslist, had a Toyota dealership do an inspection, and drove 9 hours roundtrip. 115,000 miles, fantastic shape, with all the features at a very fair price. Just placed an order with Oregon Adventure Trucks in Bend for an AT Overland Atlas topper with an expected install date of late October. Looking forward to building this one out and spending more time on TacoWorld now that I'm back in the club.
