3rd Gen aFe down pipes...

Hey guys... so has anyone ran or is currently running these down pipes from aFe? And if so, can you give me thoughts on them, pros and cons, check engine lights, emission problems, etc...

Please, if you haven’t or are not running them, don’t chime in. Don’t need the peanut gallery telling me what they think if they honestly have no clue of actual experience. Thanks!

And just for reference... I’m rocking a 2020 TRD Sport, v6 auto, 3” cat back, k&n full intake, aFe tb spacer and a k&n throttle module.

 

I have a set on order, they say the end of February, I'm curious if they'll work with the rest of my stock exhaust.

 

Do they replace the cats?

 

I ordered version with cats

 

They have two different sets... one that has a set of hi-flow cats and another set that are a cat-delete kit (test or straight pipe) design. I am looking at the cat-delete version. I don’t care for cats, nor do I care for all of California’s bullsh*t emissions ratings that are pushed on all the other states and vehicle mods.

 

Ordered? As in you have yet to get or install or use? Keep me posted, I’d love to hear feedback once you have some data to relay!!

 

Yep, the down pipes are supposed to be here by the end of February, but the Y pipe is going to take 10-12 weeks. I thought about getting the URD ones, but from what I've researched they have some fitment issues, and some who have asked for their money back were denied. I also looked at the Orange Virus pipes, but they wouldn't be here any quicker the the aFe pipes. My installer is Titan Motorsports in Orlando FL, and they told me that aFe is a quality product. I went with the catted pipes because my installer said that the drone would be an issue with the catless. I'm old and can do without extra noise haha.

 

Yea, I’m running the 3” MBRP off-road cat back exhaust (ends before axle) so I know all about drone. My truck is a weekend toy, so it is what it is... definitely looking forward to more feedback! Thanks and keep me posted as you go.

 

Hopefully it'll be here soon, I have a supercharger waiting for them!!

 

Anyone ever install these ? If yes how do you like it ?

 

Love it, I have the full aFe exhaust, I know the V6 sound isn't that great, but I do like the sound, especially at WOT

 

You can't say that and not give us a sound clip.....

Im talking front end, interior, and rear end all at cold start, warm idle, and WOT.....PLEASE

Also did you have any issues with CEL?

I run the URD Mark 2 y pipe. I wonder if there will be any issues with fitment.

 

You're asking a lot from me with the sound clips, hahaha, I'll see if I can figure it out...

 

I think there are a lot of people that WANT to do this with no idea of what to expect, and very few people out there actually doing it....so any kind of sample clips would greatly benefit the community!

 

Yep, those are them. I had one CEL, about 300 miles after, and nothing for 2000 miles, including a 1400 mile trip to NC and back. After gassing up, I was getting a CEL every time I drove over 5 miles, after fueling up again, I haven't got another CEL, so I guessing I might have gotten a bad tank of gas...

 

So you only received a CEL after gasing up once after you drove 5 miles?

 

By the company that brought you the throttle body spacer....come on AFe, if you believe in your stuff, post some 3rd party dyno numbers on these

 

No, it came on every time I drove 5 miles or more, until that particular tank of fuel was gone. Hasn't happened since.

 

hey I forgot to ask but it the down pipe plug and play with out any fitment issues?
