So I got my my 2016 TRD Sport 2WD in April of 16. I have driven it 52,000ish miles which 95% of are for work. I've always loved the truck, after transmission TSB it did me no wrong. So my company was tired of paying me so much mileage and decided to get me a 2018 Colorado. I can honestly say after a week in the Colorado and whole lot of of windshield time in the Tacoma, the Tacoma is by far a better vehicle in 99% of the aspects. I am unfortunately going to have to get rid of the Tacoma because I don't have room for 2 trucks! It is sitting in my garage shining and ready, but I don't want to see it go! If anyone is on the fence between a Tacoma or Colorado, go with the Toyota and never look back!

Just had to vent a little because I'm a bit sad to let her go, just have to find a good home!

What turns you off with the Colorado?

The fit and finish of the Tacoma is by far superior, interior panels of the Colorado don't line up correctly, cabin noise is much greater in the Chevy and ride quality suffers, also feels very plastic inside. I tried to talk them into a Tacoma, but no go!

The Colorado has a little bit more low end torque (which I'm sure everybody here knows!) but the 8 Spd transmission leaves a lot to be desired.

Agree with this 100% loved the 5.3 back in the day but crappy interiors

Toyota’s having every gen of Tacoma’s have always been better

I agree with OP on this

    You need to change jobs.
My company truck here. By the way, this also my office.

I have looked at every truck on the market and was impressed with the android auto being standard in the Colorado, but the rest of the atmosphere of the truck was a no go.
If they would use better materials it would make for a better vehicle. I do like the step in the bumper too, but there are other options for that. That's sucks that you need to get rid of the better truck, but I guess if they are paying for it, what can you do?

Look inside of any Chevy that’s older and I can bet you the dash is cracked everywhere and look at the buttons on the steering wheel and most of them don’t even have a discription of what the button is and it’s just a green light under clear plastic. I work as a technician and trust me Chevy is cheap as hell. Haven’t seen the first Toyota with faded steering/radio/ac etc... controls or cracked dashboards

GM has been famous (infamous?) for a long time now for using milk-jug-quality plastic in their interiors.

I used to have a 2001 Camaro SS.

Absolutely terrific engine with an absolutely as cheap as possible bean counter approved car tacked around it.

The newer ones are better but still seemingly inferior to Ford or even Dodge interiors.

The higher trim levels aren't too bad, but with the generic trims it is very obvious where costs were cut.

The boat was a customers that I repaired and was taking it for a test run, so I guess it was my office at the time.
Not hiring now, cant have too many people do what I do:D.
If the ranger comes with AA/ Apple car play, Toyota will have to step up with something. I dont think Entune 3.0 is going to be enough.
