This is a pure GM thing at the moment. I was taking over my wife’s Cobalt SS when she got a new car and keeping my Dodge for truck duties. I loved that car but the PLASTIC!!!! My mother in law has the previous gen Colorado and it is just as bad. In the end I sold both and got a new Tacoma. The interior fit and finish and quality are luxury vehicle good compared to a GM vehicle. The Tacoma feels substantial when you push and bear weight on the plastic parts. Any GM seems flimsy and dollar store cheap. I leaned too heavy on the passenger door armrest (Cobalt SS) and cracked it internally and I am not a big guy by any means. Forget the bitching and moaning by Taco owners regarding for 40 large a vehicle should have bla bla bla. For 40 large a Colorado shouldn’t feel like I bought he lowest price point economy compact shoebox on wheels when I am looking around the interior.

GM makes their vehicles feel as cheap as the craptastic plastic they use to save a hundred bucks end to end. It’s plastic and 2018. Shouldn’t we have this dialed in to feel like perfection by now?

My issue with Chevy outside of the above mentioned will always be the same.

-only continues to exist from government bail out
    -garbage resale and reliability
-terrible design whether past or present, past couldn't change a wheel bearing without replacing the whole assembly. Couldn't change light bulb without removing bumper.
-their past, might be local for me but the GM plant in Ontario is known for protecting drunk workers, and dealers are known for using aftermarket parts without telling customers.
    -reliability
-OnStar, the fact you need to pay for the emergency stuff. Sure charge customers that want to start their vehicle via phone. But the fact if you don't pay for the service they will not send ems or fire in an accidnt even though they'll know about it is disgusting.
-recall history and how they handle them
    -ugly
-more and more tech less and less reliability

You mean a truck that’s probably 10+ years old it falling apart? No....

Jesus. You people will bitch about anything. The funny part is, these tech filled Tacoma’s will be trash in 10 years just like the rest of them. My 2015 Silverado LTZ was extremely luxurious, and had no “cheap” plastic people are talking about.

As daddyo said, it’s time for a new job! If they want to keep you as an employee then they will get you a Taco, if not then the answer is obvious!

    Hey LarsonFan

Both are kinda nice, but if I had to choose myself I think I'd pick the CRV. Also, up here in Canada, the RAV4 Hybrid is pretty expensive. Not sure what US pricing is like.

That said, I recollect that a RAV4 redesign may be on the way :)

Hey thanks man. I'm a little concerned about the 1.5 Turbo Honda is putting in the CRV but I know Honda has just as good of engineers as Toyota. You can get a good deal on the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid here in southeastern Illinois, (So I'm told). I also have a concern about the Hybrid RAV4, that being I don't drive but about 3,000 miles a year. It would sit 4 or 5 days a week. Wondering how long the batteries will last. I know Toyota guarantees them 8 years or 100,000 miles. Going to need to find out about the cost to replace those batteries also. I talked to a guy yesterday at Walmart and he really likes his RAV4 Hybrid. Say's people make fun of him but it don't bother him. I'm sure it won't bother me either.. :hattip:

^^^Been thinking about this model but in a FWD. $1,300+ cheaper.

I wouldn´t worry about being made fun of, it won´t be too long all vehicles will be hybrids. Pretty soon there will be a hybrid section here on TW.
Heck even the new Ranger will have that Auto Start-Stop technology where every time you stop at a red light the engine will shut off.

Sounds like some people shoulda never even got a Tacoma. All it takes is a quick look in to see the quantity of plastic, and if it’s TOO much plastic, keep moving along. Myself, I don’t mind the plastic, because it’s what vehicle interiors are made of. And I’ll admit, my Toyota pickup isn’t luxurious. I’m not a luxurious kind of guy.
