Can anyone comment on the use of OBDEleven to turn off the seat belt chime on a 2021 Sport?

I've used VAGcom for many years, and am surprised to see a VAG interface that also talks to a Toyota.

IF it's a useful tool, I'll pick one up, But would appreciate the voice of experience.

I just went to the dealer and had them do it, they did it for both driver and passenger side. I have a 2019 but ours are both 3rd gens. If they give you push back you can show them in the owners manual where it says a dealer can turn it off. I don't remember what page but its in there.

Been there done that, got the "can't do it"

    'Don't need that aggravation.

The question is about OBDEleven, not the seatbelt chime , though that was used in example.

I can't comment on the OBDeleven product but it does sound a lot like the Carista OBD product. I snagged one of those for $20 off the 'Zon when I first got my truck. Shut off the seat belt chime, change the lane change indicator number, and other things. I used it on my truck plus the wife's car. Easy pesy. Plus its a little cheaper too.

Mine pushed back as well. Fortunately the guy that tuned my truck was able to silence my seatbelt chime.

Why would you want it off? Just curious.

    ^ A rhetorical question, I presume?

If not, the reason for the multitude of folks that prefer the chime disabled, is to prevent it from chiming...

Isn’t it just a safety feature to tell you that you’re not wearing it? Or are we talking about something else?

It's nice to have it off for things like pasture driving, opening and closing gates and checking livestock as an example.

Although not the exact solution you are asking for, you can buy seat belt buckle clips for only a couple of bucks each. The clips are essentially the male portion of the seatbelt that plugs into the receptacle and stops the chime. I bought 4 on ebay for about $10 total. It is a simple solution that is simple to insert or remove as you choose. The same seatbelt clip works on my BMW, Range Rover, Viper, F150, and Tacoma. In case anyone is wondering - no, I don't wear a seatbelt (my body, my choice).

I likely would not disable mine, but I will say that it gets pretty freaking annoying in my 2012 regular cab (bench seat) when my dog is sitting in the passenger seat.

He's heavy enough to register as a passenger, but struggles to fasten the belt given his lack of opposable thumbs.

I just did what "tagoo" suggested.
Cut fabric off buckle clips and slide into buckle end when dog is with me.
Just unclip it and put it in cup holder behind arm rest when 2 legged person with me.

You can totally turn off both the passenger and driver seat belt chime with OBDeleven. I went to their page to double-check, and it's like the first 2 available customization options for Tacoma's.
    Check for yourself https://obdeleven.com/supported-vehicles?Toyota/Tacoma/2015-2023
At the cost of 60 Credits ($2.29 for 10 or $20.09 for 100), you can have both chimes gone in mere moments

    Thanks

I guess I didn't explore the pages well enough.
