I think the Cooper S/T MAXX are 3 peak. They are a hybrid A/T

My setup is in my signature, but 5100/888/Dakar/JBA UCA's & 255/75/17's. Only complaint is the 888's, they settled almost 3/4" down to an even 2" front lift. The rear actually rides much better than stock.

Did you add a wench or custom bumper? I have only heard of the 888's settling that much if you add a bunch of weight to the front.

Nope. Just a skid plate and sliders. There were a couple recent threads about 888/887’s settling 1/2-3/4”. I’m not the only one.

Be prepared to add an extra 1/4” top spacer on both sides if you want it to be level long term.

    That’s because that’s a 590# coil on the 2888’s. 3rd gens need 650# coil minimum

I had ome 886 and HD dakars with nitrochargers for a year or so w/ skinny cooper st maxx in 17s. Was a dang good setup I just wanted a little more from the truck. I’m full armored and never had any issues cept for Dakar squeak was all.
I have my moments where I wish I would of stuck with it for simplicity and set it and forget it mentality. Still have the fronts for backup when the icons leak.:anonymous:

Correct. That’s what I’ve learned from the recent threads. Reportedly the OEM coils are 712lb.

LOL, thank you, I guess. I am very methodical, determined, and technical, but I also have a ton of different hobbies so projects tend to take a while.

Do you guys with the 3.5 and auto feel the need to regear with the 255's, or do the skinny tires not rob the power too bad?

I didnt really notice any power loss. Though I tend to adjust my driving to the truck. So maybe I am pushing the pedal harder, but it still drives fine to me, with no noticed "power loss." MPGs did decline. I am now more of a 15/18 instead of 18/21 BUT my commute changed significantly since getting the tires (more city miles/stop and go) so could be more of that. Also the larger tire makes the MPG meter understate the MPGs.

I don't have a 3rd gen but I have been thinking about one and doing some research. Check out the 5.29 Mega Thread on here, its long and very informative. I've read every page and my take is if you go 33's or bigger and have some weight added to your truck its a no brainer. If 255's were as big as you were going maybe 488's.
