Finally got around to finishing my audio system for my 3rd gen.
    components:
    Front:Kenwood XR-1800P components
    Rear: Disconnected
    Sub: Kenwood Excelon XRW-1002 2Ohm 10"
    Amp: Kenwood Excelon XR9005
    Enclosure: Custom Fiberglass/MDF
    Processor: AudioControl LC7i
    Wire: Stinger PRO
    RCA's: Stinger PRO4000

    The Goods:

    Fiberglass box process:

    Installed;

The signal was tapped from the front tweeters, ran into the audiocontrol, then to the Kenwood amplifier. The amp is running in 3 channel mode CH1+2 bridged to Front left, CH3+4 bridged to Front right, and CH5 to sub.

It's a tight fit, but it clears!
    Pictured: Amp/processor/crossovers

Door speaker adapters were cut out of 3/4" MDF and coated in underbody spray for water protection. Tweeter adapters were out of 1/4" ABS
    [IMG]

(pink connectors; signal from stock stereo)
    (blue connectors: new Tweeter wires)

    Just like factory!

Doors were sound dampened on both inside and out. Adapters were mounted with bolts/nylon lock nuts/washers.

    Mounted up:

I am waiting on my ACR-1 Bass knob, which will be mounted in the cubby pocket.

    Final thought:
100X better then stock. Awesome mids, smooth blend with the sub, highs are a little bright(also since they moved location from door panel to dash on the 3rd gens)
I have heard the JBL, and this blows it away.
Best part...you look inside and everything looks 100% factory

    CHEERS!!:cheers::cheers:

Piece of cake. Didn't even take the radio out. I specifically did not want the JBL because they are trickier to integrate with and I could build a system twice as good for half the price.
Overall I'm loving it. Still need to go through and dial it all in.

Removed the useless cubby and fabed up a plate to mount the bass knob.

Nice build. If you can make those fiber glass boxes pretty easy I'd look into selling them on here. That would be a hot item for many.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
nice job. i made a fiberglass box about 13 years ago and ended up needing WAAAY more fiberglass than I budgeted for. how thick did yours end up and where did you buy the mat and resin from?

Did you have to cut out the hooks on the cab wall?

Very nice and clean install. Do you have the amp and the DSP under a seat?

    Kool, lol
I use to as well for about a decade. I have recently gotten into mould making and using carbon fiber.
I am contemplating making a mould for a sub enclosure and having a carbon fiber front.

This is a clean setup! I've been seeing all your work and I am completely impressed @mesojdm
I'm going to be doing my BHLM soon and audio upgrades. Did this enclosure setup limit you on subwoofer selection? Or did you have a sub in mind and design this enclosure around it?

What products did you use for sound damping? Does it make a big difference? Also did you do the entire cab or just the doors? First time I’ve considered this, and I’m leaning towards second skin. Just have no experience and there are way to many opinions on other forums about it. Thanks in advance.
