So... I'm about to start this project and do a Friday night and Saturday / Sunday project. I'm just doing the basic housing paint. No light changes or anything. I changed my bulbs and I'm fine with them. I just want to paint the lights matte black

Besides an oven and screwdrivers & socket sets what other things do I need to make sure I have (besides patience)?

I'd like to get a shopping list before starting

Thanks for the reply! I got two sets of DRL’s so I’m probably gonna give this a try. Easier and cheaper than the JDM spray tint, and or new Amber LED’s.

Seriously! that's why i went this route. FYI, when you take out the DRL plastic piece, spray paint the entire thing. trust me

I assume you just masked off the sidemarker to get it to say TRD? Where'd you get the stickers? Gonna do this in a few weeks. Not sure if'll paint the DRLs or not though.

I had a sign shop cut the TRD logo out in vinyl & put it on the turn signal. After painting turn signal, i removed the TRD so it could reveal the amber lens. FYI, the TRD was 3" wide

Do you mean the entire outer piece mounts and all? Not the inner piece that clips right over the leds?

I'm talking about the clear plastic DRL piece that is exposed through the opening. take that out & paint the entire thing.

I get what your saying, wondering if you painted the refractors (Not sure if that’s the proper term?) too. Basically did you just paint the upper piece in my picture or the middle piece too, there’s 3 pieces to that DRL.. the board, the refractors?, and the lens. You only painted the lens right?

Hey All, Getting ready for BHLM. So far, this is what i have for a shopping list:

HALOS: PROFILE PRISM (RGB) 80mm w/XBT Controller
    Krylon Covermaxx Matte
Night Shade for side markers only
    Clamps
    Retro Rubber
    Clip Pliers
    T Tap connectors
(let me know if i am missing any parts)

I know there are several cooking temps but i will try with OP's suggestion of 300 degrees for 10min. I noticed several pictures and read comments that some plastics on housing will melt a little. Will wrapping these mounts in tin foil prevent the melting?

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
They can get soft and if you wrap them the foil may stick to it.

I guess, there is no way to prevent the melt.

Here's my finished product. It's far from perfect, but I did them. I just need to seal up behind the projector and the drl hole

Man, that was brutal. Had some bad things go wrong - broke tabs, burnt mark (stupid accident) and minor scratching. Here is the finished product. I love the way it came out.
