I placed the retrorubber in the back channel without stretching it out so its the same diameter as it was rolled up in the box, Stuck the front lens to the back as much as I could, baked it for 5 min, then pushed it together, screwed in all the screws and held together with clamps until it set. Was really easy once it was warm after baking. Came out awesome. I am happy with the results. Here are some before and after pics.

Just starting out, give me time
Has anyone been successful at painting the high beam reflector to a smoke or less shinny piece. I am not really worried about light loss as I already have the bulb mod to high beam for both low and high same light same bulb type.

Mine is just blacked out. Dont even have bulb.. Most just scuff lightly with scotchbrite and paint. Dont know if anyone has done tinting or black chrome.

I just blacked mine out, along with the turn signal reflector bowl. Just make sure you will not need to use the halogen high beam. Any amount of tinting or painting will make it useless.

I used some tinting spray on mine. I don't recommend it. my high beams are pretty much useless now.

Has anyone tried using a heat gun to do this? Keep chickening out on this cause I don’t like the idea of putting my headlight in the oven

I don't think it will work with the original Permaseal. By the time you get an area hot enough, the rest has cooled off. If it's been opened before and Butyl put in its place it would probably work? I could be wrong so see if someone else chimes in.

The angry eyes are not easy. Paint wont stick. Diode dynamics has a new halo where you can cut some of it out and just get a smaller control. Here's the link

I’ve read through the 40 some pages once, but skimming this time. I know it’s said do not wipe the inside of the lense. However. The set of donor lights I have were stored somewhere without bulbs this the sockets exposed and dirt and or moisture formed inside. Has anybody cleaned the inside other than compressed air? Distilled water, compressed air? Or any other suggestions

Lightwerkz has a good video on YouTube showing how they clean lenses. I’ve used their method a few times and it works well.

While slugging away on my BHLM I did this only by opening the oven ha. So far one headlight sprayed, amber acrylic piece made, side marker smoked. Both headlights opened very easy. To anyone the key is bake and bake and bake ha. 10 min at 300 was good to start. Had a fancy panel clip remover but didn’t end up using it. Best tool is a flat head screwdriver. Will update when get further along.

One down one to go. Good luck with yours. It is not hard but tedious. And when you put it back together everything has to go back in a certain order.
