What was done to get the semi-demon eye with lights off? I like the look but not sure I like how it draws so much attention to them when nobody is around. Great looking lights.

It's very subtle. Very subtle. You gotta catch it at just the right angle to see it. All you do is paint your projector shields whatever color you want it to be. They call it passive demons eyes since it doesn't light up the last way. Most of the time you don't even notice it.

How did you attach the amber lens cover to the inside of the turn signal grill?

    I used two-part epoxy.

I used this one 418BA2B8-7EAF-4DDB-BCCA-D432BACD35DB.jpgNot sure if that is the best one to use, but it is still holding strong. The main reason I went with that one is because of the clear finish (I knew I was going to make a mess).
I recommend that you put the epoxy all around the edge.

I made a few errors and put too much epoxy but thanks to the clear finish is only noticeable if you get really close.

What is everyone doing to seal the back of the rx350 projectors into the headlight housing? I know the rear of the rx350s is not a perfect circle like the stock projector is. Ive seen a couple pictures but not many explanations.

Inspired by this thread I tackled the bhlm last weekend. Honestly wasn’t too difficult. I didn’t do the projector retrofit, other projects are taking priority on my bank account right now. The bhlm was definitely a little intimidating, but thanks to all the feedback and info on TW the process is pretty much step by step. I think I spent a total of $40 on the project, including the retro-rubber and spray paint.

I will say that 285 degrees for 15 min and a little screwdriver encouragement around the headlight was the trick, they came apart easy first attempt.

With regard to the permaseal, well, it just sucks and that’s what it is. I used a screwdriver and worked it out inch by inch...just took time and patience but the channel ended up looking factory clean.

For paint, I started with Krylon MAXX flat black, but decided to do my final coat with MAXX satin and am stoked with the result. I did use VHT lens tint on the turn signal and in hindsight I wish I would ‘t have done a second coat, but it does still let light through.

In other news, I have decided to buy one of the many sets of turn signal lights that are being sold off (after @mesojdm ultimate turn signal broke the internet) and going to see if I can’t do a “btsm” to match my headlights. I’ll share the results if they end up coming together!

Thanks for all the help on this project.

Nice job. I'm having some made with the retro but think I might try a set on my own as many of you are having good luck.

I don't have my lights yet but can anyone tell me if hooking up the no xenon lights is dufficult. I'm pretty sure I'm getting the adapters and harnesses. Just trying to plan ahead.

    Thanks

Anyone ever thought of putting in a small LED light bar or some ignites in the high beam/turn signal area? Instead of just blacking it all out, why not use it. I'm sure @mesojdm could figure something out. Its a ford, but you get the idea.

My new headlights will have switchback DRL and Halos. Will I need resistors if my taillights already have them?

Are you not going to be running blinkers in the stock location? If not, then yes you will.

So I ordered Non-AFS and got AFS from lightwerkz. I emailed them and they said I should’ve gotten adapter plates which I didn’t. Now they are mailing me some plates but from all the pictures here it doesn’t look like my bottom 2 screws will line up without more trimming.6074DE9D-513C-4F6B-AB00-EF5571FB2E98.jpg
Thoughts? Should I wait and see what these adapter plates look like or tell lightwerkz I want the actual Non-AFS projectors I originally ordered.

I believe with the adapter plates everything will work but I've never done it

Finished these up tonight, full blackout and rx350 projectors. Just went with a full Morimoto set up, made everything plug and play with oem style connectors. Going to test them out on my truck this week, but they’ll be for sale shortly.

Got these installed today, hid all my wiring behind the bumper. Did a quick alignment, but will probably readjust when it gets dark. Man I missed having actual projectors on my vehicle!
