Not cheap, probably around $175-200 for a pair. Considering everything that goes into them; custom designed and 3d printed Base, 1/8” plexus diffusers, Radiantz LED strips(just in led strips my cost is $100), PWM dimming module, etc. Not to mention soldering and assembly. I’ll make a few sets and go from there

Damn that's awesome. Love how you never do anything half-assed. Thanks for the info, I'll definitely keep an eye out for these once I stop losing sleep trying to snag a pair of your turn signals

Anybody have any experience with the profile pivot switchback halos at TRS? They come with a diffuser already over the leds (see pic). Question is do u think it'd be ok to paint some of the diffuser for the angry halo look, instead of using an aftermarket diffuser and painting that.

Also, how did everybody pass any extra wires (bixenon, halos, demon eyes) out of the housing? Cut a hole in housing and silicone wires? I think I read someone just cut a hole in the factory rubber gasket, maybe @mesojdm.

Any suggestions on where to mount extra driver's and wires would also be appreciated.

Thanks for any tips. Hoping to be done next week with my retro, thank goodness I'm doing this slowly and not trying to cram it in a weekend.

@LSC15 did mine. He said it took quite a few coats to block out the light.
I'm not sure if he wants to post his process on here, but maybe send him a PM.

Hey @mesojdm had a question about the High beam splitter
How do you wire it up and do you need one or two?
Have an idea how but not 100% positive

The retrofit source sells them for $2.50 each. You need two. They are h11m->h11f/9006f

The male end goes into the stock high beam plug, the female ends go to the two bulbs

I have to take one of my retro's back apart sometime. One of the DRL's has a light out and 2 are brighter than others. Can someone tell me if separating with the butyl is harder or easier? Should use different time/temp? Also the 3m tape is ok in oven and wont melt to lens?

    Thanks

Much easier separating with butyl, 10 minutes @300 should be plenty.

What 3m tape are you talking about? Like a protective film?

I see some people putting 3m painters tape on the lenses to protect them from scratching when you separate them before putting in oven.

3m painters tape will be fine and shouldn't leave any residue. The point of the tape is to protect the lens from getting scratched.

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
If left for any long period of time it will leave super heavy residue. But it comes off with elbow grease and WD40 on a rag

Well I've decided to try building my own retro headlights. OEM headlights on the way and just got my switchback DRL's. Not in any hurry so this will be a good winter project. First I need to fix my current ones which people say will be fairly easy...

I've thought about leaving the factory projector in and removing the cutoff shield for high beam.

Either d2s 4.0 or the mled projectors in the high beam location?

Have 2 high beams and one low beam with the spiller. Plus some amber led add ons cause inferno

4.0 in the highbeam spot is very tight.
