Hey guys, I did the retrofit this past weekend and it looks amazing!! I put in the RX350 projector with the clear lens and it's so crisp. I'm finding that the angle and horizontal alignments are slightly off. Any tips on adjusting them? I might open them back up this weekend and play around with the mounting of the projector.

Nice work. It's hard to tell with that pic. The pipe on the wall is a sewer line so it's going down on the left. Might be giving the illusion that the light is going up.
Are those tunes lenses and how much if any trimming did you have to fit the projector?

I did get them tuned. Yeah, that picture isn't the best. I was doing some quick measurements and the alignments are only slightly off so it would be hard to see. I'll try and get better pictures this weekend with measurements/tape.

I just trimmed some of the housing to fit the solenoid. Similar to what meso did in his first post.

Yeah it took most of the weekend to do it and was a bit frustrating at times but I'd do it again just for the rx350 projectors. I just need to fiddle with the mounting to get the alignment perfect.

I just might. Meeting up with high end builder on Saturday but I think it will be in the $2400 range :eek:. He does lots of flashy lights for sema vehicles. I already have extra set of OEM lights, switchback DRL boards , resealing materials and turn signal shields. You did yours in a weekend? Nice!!

Yeah. Make sure the cutoff looks like like this

    ____________

Lol but really a skwed cutoff really grinds my gears. I am so OCD it’s the first thing I notice when I fire them up. When swapping projectors that use a bolt pattern, I always get all 4 bolts loose and then try and get the projector centered between all 4 mount screws. Even though they are direct swap, I’ve noticed there is a little wiggle tolerance in the mounting. Other smaller things can add to it like taco lean, and even all the headlight mounting tabs(go through and loosen them all and you might be able to squeeze a little more alignment out of the projectors)

    WeekDAY. Singular :)

And WOW. 2400 even you providing all that??

Test light torn apart. Trying out dummy light to fill high beam bucket. Not sure how or if its gonna work. Have no idea how to get a shroud in there for Halo or mount the lense..

No, that's if I supply the lights and your side markers since they don't make those. They won't warranty the lights unless you use parts from them which I can understand. But since I have a lot of stuff already I think I can do it for about another 5-6 hundredfor projectors and halos?

I wiped the inside of the clear lens and it seems like it's leaving tons of scratches on the lens but if I keep scrubbing at it they seem to go away.

Is there a faster way to fix what I did?

I don't think you're supposed to touch the inside of the lens. it makes them look cloudy even if the big scratches go away.

The plastic is just very soft. If you can, never ever try and wipe the inside. Once I open housings, I immediately wrap the removed lens in clear wrap to protect it. When ready to reassemble, blow out the inside lens with compressed air and it should be as good as the day you cracked them open.
