I see on Headstrong's site that the 3rd Gen 5100s have a warning on the 5th notch setting(the 2" setting) that says "5th notch = 2" (5th notch not recommended for 4x4 V6/4cyl Access Cab or 4x2 V6 Double Cab 6' bed)". However, the 2nd Gen 5100s only have 4 notches and the last notch is for 2.5" lift. There is no such warning for the 2nd Gens. Why is this?? I have a '17 DCORSB 4x4 and am thinking I will go with the 2nd Gen 5100s all around with a 1.5" block for the rear. If I set the fronts at the 2.5" setting I SHOULD have just a slight rear high rake from the measurements I have taken... Thoughts???

Getting ready to lift my truck - been reading as much as I can around the forum to learn what my options are. I've seen tons of recommendations for HeadStrong so I'm gonna order through you guys. I want to run 285/75r16 tires and have a stance like the trucks in the photos that I attached. I'm thinking of ordering the following: 5100's front and rear, Deaver AAL, and the H/S 1/4" spacer for driver side. I have a few questions though... Do I need front coils? Do I need the UCA's? I want to mostly maintain the factory rake - is the AAL gonna be enough if the 5100's were set to max? Do you know if 285/75r16's would require spacers if I did get the adjustable UCA's? And lastly, when I'm done with my installation, is an alignment the only thing the truck will need or will it need a speedo calibration and brake lines etc. Thank you!

@HeadStrong Off-Road interested in a lift for my 18’ DCLB off road. 5100’s f/r, not sure which coil, and AAL for the rear. Would like to avoid UCA’s and alignment issues. 2.5” tops. Not much off-roading, just can’t stand the front not being level. Other than a possible bed topper I will not be adding any extra weight. Currently the driver side does have a lean. Thanks in advance.

Tires, soon to be shocks, bushings, and bull bar. No lift, not needed.
If I put the 3rd gen TRD Offroad stock Bilstein struts on my 2005 (2nd gen), will this result in a lift? I plan on using Iron Man coils on the front as well.

Hi Im new to the site, and I've been searching and can't come up with an answer so any help will be appreciated. I have a 2017 TRDSport with 265/70R16 Ko2s (TRD 4runner rims) and I simply want to level the truck. Right now im sitting about 1in lower in the front. MY question is will just installing the 5100s on the front only level the truck? and what setting? I can't seem to find a straight forward answer! thanks!!

I am ready to order....just sold my moto and finally have some cash....being married, that’s rare!
On the fence with OME full kit or 1500s... I daily drive 90%, 10% off-road ....I had a Toytec coil/aal on my 06nand it was fine. I am going to put 285s on when I get more cash....I will cut as needed to make them fit! From a budget standpoint...best setup? 5100s, 888, 3 leaf aal, 1/4 taco lean spacer....Marie at HS....please send me some advice, options, and pricing!

Sorry if this has been covered but are the lift numbers in post 1 the delta between pre-5100 and post-5100 on *that truck*?

Meaning- given the understanding that the 3G already sits an inch higher than the 2G normally, I'm curious if the listed 2" on the third gen 5100s is actually 2" on the third gen (but 2.5" on the 2nd gen 5100s would actually only gain you 1.5" on the third gen).

I installed 3rd gen bilstein 5100 all around, with 888 coil in front and 2.5 block in back. I was expecting about 3” lift in the front but came out to 2”, or just under depending on taco lean. Ive seen same setup with 3” of lift, what am i missing? Is that normal? Also stock ucas. 2017 Trd sport long bed. Worried that 285s will have no chance of fitting under current setup. Currently have about 3” of rake. Would like to reduce the rake by changing the 2.5 block to either a 1” or 1.5” aal or leafpack. Recomendations? 2EF264FB-0D87-4B71-8D7C-AD701B0A16E6.jpg
