I'm getting a lot of PMs so for anyone interested

I'm asking $200 at the moment, yes it's high but so is the material cost. Price includes shipping.

For switch backs I use these (6") -
    https://www.diodedynamics.com/hd-led-semi-flex-strip-single.html

And these for amber (6") -
    https://www.diodedynamics.com/hd-led-amber-semi-flex-strip-single.html

For those who don't know, Diode Dynamics is known as the premier brand for LED strips among headlight retrofitters and they're the brightest and most reliable on the market according to sources I've spoken with and feedback I've read in the retro groups on FB.

That said, it's a little over $100 for a pair of their 6" strips shipped. If you're willing to settle for cheaper strips or want to use other options then I'd be glad to decrease the price proportionately. The original set that's barely visible during the day was only like $40 for the pair, but they suck with even one coat of tint.

I can't seem to find a link to the aftermarket signal housings now but I got mine for $50, if they're more than $50 now then the price will have to go up and vice versa.

I'd like to try this mode on my own.

What are you using to seal the mirrors back together? Will Retro rubber work?

Hey I'd definitely be into buying a set from you if you decide to sell them.

Keep me in the loop about how that goes. I just upgraded the lights in the mirror, but I sure as hell wouldn't mind the switchback feature

He did a great job on mine. Great guy as well, couldn't pass up this opportunity to have them made since he was local. And since I'm not the most knowledgeable at wiring, it was great he was able to give me a hand. Definitely recommend.20181027_170007.jpg 20181027_165913(0).jpg

These are not the best photos but I hope they clarify the wiring process for these signals....

So once you have your mirror apart, you have 3 wires to pass through into the cab. There are two ways to do this, for either way you will have to remove the tape from the little cone where the wire passes through the door, unplug the mirror connector, then pull the wiring out of the truck a bit to give you something to tape your wires that need to pass inside to. It's a very tight fit and I was unable to get a fish tape through.

To save a lot of headache, @RockHed discovered that, if you folder the mirror in, you can remove this panel and make the wire run much, much easier. The panel is easiest to remove if you start right by where the mirror connects and pull away perpendicular from the body.

[sorry I could've sworn I got a photo of this but couldn't find it, so I'm using a stock image]

1 - Run all three wires through the mirror fitting

2 - Cut the pink and white with blk stripe wires after the mirror connector inside the door then use that wire for 2 of the other wires. I used it to replace black (ground) and white (white light) but it doesn't really matter how you do this as long as you connect it appropriately inside the mirror. You can also clip the black and yellow wires coming from the LED strip and just connect your LED strip to the pink and white/blk since they'll be carrying the white/black (or whatever color you've chosen) signal from inside the door.

You can see in this image that I used a green wire to extend the yellow wire as well as make sure I could get through the door without damaging the connector on the yellow wire.. With the most recent lamps I've shipped [@Mbarr1985] I left the yellow wire full length instead of trimming in the middle extending as shown here.

[Thanks @KTJO 4x4 for the idea for the second method]

The bare pink and white/blk will be connected to the previously clipped white/black/yellow harness, so now the green, pink, and white act as extensions for our driver output.

Once you've got your strip signal wires (the white, yellow, black coming from the mirror) to the inside of the door, you just need to reconnect them to the driver output.

Then you can connect the driver input (white, yellow, black, red) to the other side of the pink and white/blk wires (shown with red disconnects in the 2nd image above). You'll connect the pink from the stock plug to the yellow and the white/blk to the black (either with disconnects like in the pic above or with vampire taps that are included with the LED strips).

The remaining wires are red and white, the red will connect to your DRL input source. I used the door lock switch harness on each side and tapped the large white wire on the driver side and the pink wire on the passenger side. The white wire is optional and will dim you mirror DRLs when your headlights come on if you tap into the illumination circuit (teal wire in any lighted switch harness).

Are these wired so that when the steering column lights are set to the off position everything is off? I really want to be able to turn them off completely when set to off, turn them on and bright with drl, and turn them on and dimmed when headlights are on.
