3rd Gen---BTLM + LED Retrofit

That's basically what I am using for the raptor glow lights. They just don't blink in that sequence ^(IMO, not a fan of the sequential switchbacks..unless it's on a mustang)

 

Anything you can do to use the dead space in the middle of the 3bar brake light?

 

I have thought about it. Factory is just an ugly reflector. On mine.. I blacked it out. I was thinking of something cool like a CNC billet TRD logo, or a Orange LED panel for turn. IDK?

 

Curious to see what you come up with. Might have to invest in that too

That's pretty much exactly what I would be looking for. Not only that, sounds the easiest for you to duplicate. "Easy", haha, I could never do something like this by myself.. Just a reminder, I was #4 on the purchase queue if that ever happens!

 

I am testing a matte/opaque acrylic sheet to go in front of the LED's to diffuse the light.
(like this BMW)




Although my LED board is major upgrade, you can still see the individual LED's. I would like them to all blend together(will match the side raptor lights too)

Also, the reverse lights on these V3 Trittons are insane. Combined with the chrome reflector bowl, they are like spot lights.(turn signal is just as bright/annoying/?). I had an upgrade 921LED reverse bulb before this.. but they don't even compare.

So had a few PM'a about a full wrap around raptor light. Here is a mock up on the PRO.
Downside is they are white when off(the RED lens from the TRD-off roads masks them a little better IMO).
Just run them on all the time?
Clearance is definitely going to be tighter when trying to get the rear housing to sit flush and seal it.

 

I dig this version! Both sets are outstanding but this all black is definitely pretty sharp. Nice work man

 

Might actually flow pretty good on a white truck

I call those ones the ALL CLEAR PROs(in case anyone was wondering, it uses the clear inner lens from an off-road, with the clear outter lens of a PRO.)
BTW/-if I were to do another set... I'd just start with the clear tails from a limited since the internals are going to get painted anyway..save the life of a set of OEM PRO tail lights.

 

I'm in for this exact set when you figure out how much of my money you want to take. My white truck would love this.

 

I think they look great! You can say the same about halos for headlights, when they are off you can see the white (or yellow if they are white leds) but that doesn't matter since the full effect happens when they are on. Don't think people would have a problem having them look like this.

Another thought.
Those blank areas on the side. Find something creative to put in there. Maybe some machined inserts or carbon fiber. I did this to my headlights on my rice burner when I had the energy and time mesojdm does...

 

Ha ha, they would indeed. Really match the look of the blacked out headlights

 

Good idea. I have the dimensions of the reflector, maybe we can get @rrentrop to cut some pre-made vinyl inserts...(carbon, body color matched, etc)

My only concern with the ALL CLEAR's is there is no Red anywhere. (besides the LED's when they are on)
Could be a legal problem...?
