Any word? Sucks it got bent.. was the pallet broken in any way? Thing had to take a tumble somewhere to bend.. hard time thinking they'd send it out with a bent tab from the shop.

Yea the vendor I purchased through contacted CBI. Their response was that putting the tab in a vice and using leverage to bend it back to shape should work. They didn't think introducing heat would be necessary.

Unfortunately my vice setup at home is for basic wood working and isn't up to the task required. I think I'll be able to take the skid into work and use a heavier duty vice there.

That skid was separated from the rest of the pallet when it arrived at my residence. I'm sure when it left CBI everything was fine. But I do think how they fasten that skid to the pallet could use some improvement to prevent this same occurrence in the future.

That's odd - mine came all on one pallet in a heavy duty black wrap securing it them to the pallet. Wonder if the freight company split it for shipping and then it bent.

Interested to see how it works out. I feel like bending it yourself.. and if it doesn't work.. what recourse you'd have after that. That said, reminds me of an exhaust I got for a GTI I previously owned. It shipped 1in~ too long for the mid pipe (seriously.. how does that happen), and they said "cut it." Yeah, my idea of customer support isn't "pay someone to cut it (because I didn't have the tools to do it) because we didn't cut it right in the first place."

I think mine started out very much the same as yours. I can’t say for sure if they did or did not shrink wrap that piece in with the rest though.

The rearmost skid broke loose from the whole pallet. The way they attach that skid by screwing a small 2x4 onto the pallet, then lag the skid to the 2x4 is less than ideal. The small 2x4 broke in half at the screws holding it to the pallet. My rearmost skid was still lagged to the haggered remnants of the 2x4 when everything arrived. Honestly I’m kinda shocked it all made it to the end destination.

Yea I’m afraid I’ll be f-Ed if the bending doesn’t work as I signed for the delivery :notsure:

Doesn't fit on the existing setup. Jeff from Expedition Essentials moved his tire carrier to the right and moved his jerry can carrier left to make room for his PQBM.

Smack it with a big ass hammer a few times. That should do the trick.

A vice and leverage made short work of it.

I just got my T3 bumper last week and I ordered it the end of December from Tacomabeast. Back then it was 6-8 week wait time.

Looking good! Did you cut the bumper exactly where CBI recommends? The gap on yours looks to be smaller than some others I’ve seen.

It doesn’t hang there unsupported. There is a spot it gets bolted up to the inside of the frame rail. (Sorry for the delayed response)

I had actually already cut my bumper for a different bumper and that happened to be the needed gap. It can't really be cut up much higher because you cut off the last clip to hold that small piece that's left from the plastic bumper.

So the overland skids will protect up to the t-case, but not t-case itself?
