    Easiest, 10 minute mod ever. Thanks El Tigre!

    I did the bolt thru method. Pop the 6 screws out of the center console, popped the stock piece out, drilled 1/8" holes through the 4 bolts-hole locations, installed 6-32×3/4" bolts through, and used low-profile nuts (and a dab of blue lock-tite cuz I hate rattles). PERFECT length. No interference putting it back in. A pic is worth a 1,000 words...

    Be warned that blue thread-lock liquid will "off gas and dry" and certain types of plastic will become brittle, degrade, and break/shatter apart. I saw that a lot, a few years back, when cyclists bought new shoe buckles, SIDI and Pearl Izumi mostly, used blue thread-lock liquid on the hardware, and the buckles cracked where the liquid touched.
