3rd Gen- Cheap/easy license plate light glare fix

Here is the drawing, hope it is good enough. BUT I have an idea. How about making a plate that goes inside or just over the lens.

 

With it against the lens, is the bottom of the lens so visible through the camera? That's the only reason I didn't have it against the lens on the tacoma, you still got a lot of glare from the bottom of the lens. With it pulled away from the lens it acts as a hood and blocks all of the light that visible to the camera without having to physically block most of the lens.

I was thinking of adding LED lights to replace those license plate lights...the way you designed them like a "hood" should block the radiance of the LED light. Current set up is visible but has a lower tone of brightness. At least, that's how I see it.

Ha, I have a whole area in my garage dedicated to stuff I'll "install eventually". Somehow I don't install things in the order I buy them and have a few things that have been sitting for MONTHS but get something a week ago and already throw it on the truck the day after it gets here
