I put them on a friend's 2015 tundra, they fit but not as nicely as the tacoma. I may make a set specifically for tundra's, what year is yours?

Got mine in the mail today. Fast shipping. Thank you. Did you post this in the 3rd gen Tacoma parts also? If not, do it and be ready to start punching them out. Good luck with it. Great idea and fast turn around.

USPS has been surprising me with some of these shipping times. As for the for sale post, I originally asked a mod how I needed to post these to sell them and not get in trouble and they said I needed to post them in the "other" section.

I am sure you can post there. If MESO can post stuff he made you can also. Go for it! Lol

I'll have to ask the mods again, I don't want to get banned for not following their rules lol plus I'm going to be unavailable in a few weeks for about a month (going out of state for training) and wouldn't want to get a bunch of orders I couldn't fulfill!

I’m curious about the specific language used by the mods. I suspect it was potentially directing you to the other forum rather than third gen as this product may not seem to be 100% third gen specific to them? Your counter to that thinking is that it is laser cut to exactly match the third gen stock plate light housing so it is specific to that part and therefore belongs in the gen specific forum. If you made a version for Tundra as well as one for 2nd Gen Tacoma, each labeled as such, and each had slightly different curves, you would have even more reason to post for sale in the gen specific forum.

As to how to handle things when away from home for an extended period, this is one of the hardest parts of the whole deal. A week is different than a month. At least with your stuff you could prepare a bunch in advance and hand write the addresses as orders are received but that is extra headache and would not work for someone on deployment. You could also stop and then start at designated times like MESO does with his 3d printed items. Last, you might find a trusted helper to send while you are away but that typically means compensation of some sort and that adds complexity as well.

I had a similar mindset at first, did not want to “break the rules” but I didn’t get very clear guidelines of any subtlety on those rules. I don’t believe there is much chance of getting the hammer unless you were specifically told not to do something and you do it. But I suppose it depends on the specific language of prior interactions and I’m guessing the mod would want that kept private.

If it were up to me to design, I might have pairs of gen specific forums for parts, one for selling parts made for that vehicle by members, venders, etc and one for users reselling individual parts, whether OEM or aftermarket, in small quantities. Even that approach gets blurry real fast though. But you could have entirely different minimum requirements on who is allowed to post in one vs the other.

There is a fundamental difference between making something for others from raw material vs reselling something you bought, whether used or unused.

I'm just taking it slow at the moment, I am still amazed at just how much this is taking off. I made 12 sets at first because that's how many I could fit on a sheet when I made mine and figured only a few others would want to use them. In the 2 weeks since I first posted these I'm up to 60 sets sold for tacoma's and am in the process of designing them for a few other vehicles.

Now that I know there's a decent market for these I'm keeping a larger stock on hand and planned on taking them with me on my training TDY so I can continue shipping them out. I just don't want to get too big too fast and become one of the "quantity over quality" people. I enjoy this forum and would hate to have something happen and either get banned or shunned lol
