I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

I'm sure they do and I could see it taking longer to cut the tip off as well. But most shops dont do that so if they are billing more then an hour to do a standard cut they are billing too much.

I've seen shops in the bay quote my customers 500 for a cmc and it's just crazy.

I’ve heard that as well. Generally when Ive seen prices like that it was from off road shops that don’t specialize in tacomas or body shops. I’d imagine a lot of shops really would prefer not to do cmc’s or definitely wouldn’t view the $100 as enough to make it a job worth performing. I’d say it’s definitely one of my least favorite jobs to do.

Seriously. I mean, I have the skills and tools to do a CMC and pinch weld, but honestly, not the time. If he's still watching @schmellmopwho can we talk? I'm in Carlsbad, CA and will gladly drive to wherever you are in So. Cal with pizza, beer, carne asada fried, whatever the fuck you need. :D

Bit of an older thread, and with everything going up these days I expect the price of a CMC to increase as well. With that said, first quote I got back was $450. Does that seem about right? Looks a bit high but all I have to go off of are the prices from threads like this that are several years old.

Second shop quoted me $750. I guess my expectation of a sub $300 price for this was wildly inaccurate.

    300-350 is realistic imo

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
CMC takes roughly 1.5hrs when done complete. My CMC includes trimming back of fender well plastics, hammering over pinch weld, cutting out the plate section, welding in the plate, and painting the area. For Tacoma and Tundra I don't grind down the welds, I love them too much to erase them. T4R, GX, and FJC I do because it helps with clearance and appearance.
