Has anyone seen an issue when their cowl is covered in snow?

I haven’t had a full load of snow on mine personally, but I doubt it. This is the same area the HVAC pulls from.

Wrapped this mod up today. Honestly, it's pretty easy, just time consuming letting the RTV set up. Don't know if it was mentioned already, but I recommend using sensor safe RTV just to keep from screwing with the MAF sensor.

The goal was to get it as tight to the fender as possible, and I think I did a pretty good job. Thanks for the knowledge OP!

Just run the mod right through the battery, helps cool the battery while providing air to the engine.:devil::boink:

Hey man, I seen your post on Facebook, then I had released that I actually read your Tacomaworld post before your actual post on Facebook; i just wanted to thank you for the Youtube video and the solid write up. I'll be doing this as the next mod.

Hey man wanted to report back as we have had a couple heavy snow falls where I am at. No issues so far, been keeping an eye on it and checking air box for water, nothing yet and getting air just fine.

I put my winch control box there. I have to see if I can use flex pipe like atlas99 and go under the mounting bracket I made... Thanks for the thread @ZebraScissors, and @atlas99 for the flex pipe idea.

It’s awesome to see people getting use out of this, can’t wait for spring so I can really put mine to the test. It’s been snowing around here like crazy, not a single issue yet.

Have you or @atlas99 found that your HVAC system isn't getting enough air like they mentioned in the 2nd gen thread? I haven't had the time to look under the cowl cover to see where the air will come from. I know another member drilled larger holes where it originally drew air from and attached screens to keep out rodents. Do you think putting something to separate the HVAC area would help at all? I'm just going from what I've seen and read. 3rd gens could be set better and not need that stuff. Thanks!

I did read about that in 2nd Gen thread but I haven't noticed any difference, if there is any its very minimal. No extra holes drilled or anything.
