Wrong? You realize the 2016 outsold every single previous year Tacoma.

Yeh I'm sure Toyota Corp is working 24/7 to get rid of the embarrassment of record sales

Some of you guys need to walk away from the computer for a bit and realize that 99% of the Tacoma owners aren't on this forum whining.

I'm definitely in the minority here but I much prefer the front end of the new Hilux to any Tacoma. I love the swept back, smooth, clean, aerodynamic styling of the Hilux MUCH more than the "fake butch, look at my huge boxy truck front end" look of the 3rd gens. Maybe it's because I'm a car guy at heart and I bought a truck because I need the utility of a truck - I didn't buy a truck to stroke my ego or make some kind of statement about size. I will say that the rear half of the 3rd gen Tacoma is leagues better looking than the rear of the Hilux.

Pulling back the front corners and lowering the height of the hood generally means better aero (improved fuel mileage) and it also means less wasted space and less sheet metal (less weight) which leads to better all around performance. In this day and age, when manufacturers are seeking every possible way to save weight and gain mileage, I'm surprised that Toyota raised the height of the hood when redesigning the Tacoma.

I have heard rumors that the Tundra will be redesigned for 2019 model year. I doubt that Toyota id doing both in one year.

    Fake news, but.

Given that Toyota wants to move all of its vehicles to a global TNGA platform. I bet the 3rd gen may be the shortest lived generation of the Tacoma.

I am betting that the Hilux, Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner and Landcruiser are all going to be on the same TNGA truck platform.

Further, I believe that most of the new models are already using a TNGA platform. The body-on-frame trucks/SUVs are the only models left without a TNGA platform.

I thought this 2nd gen circle-jerk had been moved to their forum where it belongs.

I could live without the wave-shaped wheel wells, but otherwise they looked nice.
