2.5 ish lift on OME BP51's... TC UCA's and NO diff drop... When the rims arent missing fresh chunks of aluminum from trails, the truck rides silky smooth and alignment is on point... No gnarly bumpsteer, caster is corrected with the TC UCA's and even with "33's" I dont rub on the Cab Chop on the rocks... full stuff

    Interesting
I have bp51 and SPA UCAs in the garage ready to go on and I was going to do a diff drop.

Why do you guys always make me rethink my decisions?? Hahaha

LoL  Just calling it like it is... You'll love the setup. Also, I'm telling you now... make your own spanner wrench... the baby dick spanner they include to adjust pre load is ridiculous lol

I'm lifted 2.7" in the front and 4.0" in the rear. No vibes without using any spacers or angle shims :notsure:

Just do the boot slide mod if your CV boot fins are touching: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-cv-boot-mod.190669/ Cheap solution (two SS hose clamps) to a minor problem. I did mine over a year ago and the clamps are still holding after several wheeling trips.

Professionally I dont install the diff drops supplied with tacomas anymore. It doesnt help with vibes, and it lowers it to impact damage on trails. Only pro is CV angles, thats it.

OOOOOOO.... welcome to my world.... Im running two AGM Northstar's, BAMF Grill insert (heavy enough to mention.... trust me, BAMF full skids (all of them), C4 Low Profile Bumper, Relentless Fab Rear HC Rear bumper with swingout..... 33's.... and the truck sits level loaded down... and slight rake unloaded... DAKAR heavy packs...

I preloaded about 1 1/4" or 31.75mm ... Thats what i needed to maintain a good height and I wheel the hell out of my truck, the valving is kept on the softer side of things with the rear in the mid to upper due to weight of all the stuff we carry on trips... hope this helps

Here are shitty photos showing unloaded vs loaded.... shitty angles, but you get the gist...

What did they come preloaded at? Mine are in my basement. I assume I can measure them myself?

When I call a shop, what and I asking? If they can adjust ome coil overs? I don't have a shop and don't no have a way to do it myself

Very clean truck!! I’m impressed. I’m not doubting you’ve take it off road, but how do you get it so clean again. I’m struggling to keep my driveway clean, it seems my truck is always leaving dirt everywhere i park.

i'm running an icon setup with 2 inches of lift, did the diff drop, considering possibly pulling it out if the boots still look okay. i thought these were done for the CV angles inside though.

The CVs can take the angles mechanically just fine. Take out the diff drop, do the boot slide mod and you're golden.

Truck has been to the rubicon twice... you should see the looks I get out there LOL.... we wheel at least every other weekend....

I like to keep my truck clean. Good way to stay on top of maintenance when you’re close to the truck cleaning it... I had the truck ceramic coated and the dirt refuses to stick to the truck and simply rinses off with water when dusty.... really love that about the truck now

I forget exactly what they came preloaded at... But i know for sure it came preloaded to what they USED to be before OME only preloading 5mm due to so many mall crawlers complaining about too much lift on their stock trucks

As for the shop thing... Thats the problem with these things... the clearance is so tight between the coil and the shock body that I could not get any of the three style spring compressors in there... I could not find a shop that could do it for me due to the setup not fitting their wall mounted machines.... so i made my own spanner...

Put the assembly on a vice, hold the top hat while using the spanner to adjust preload without compressing the springs... Use plenty of WD40 on the treads... With my homemade wrench, it was crazy easy to adjust everything...

    Good luck

Thanks - I'll probably call around to a few crawler guys i know and see if they have anywhere that can do it. I'd be surprised if some of the specialty shops can't do it for me.

I'm hoping i can find somewhere to adjust mine before i put them on... but i'm trying to figure out a number to go to. You said you did 31.75mm. I was reading over here -> https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ome-bp-51-install-report-and-height-adjustment.476085/ and dude did 15mm.

Any suggestions on a happy medium? I'm afraid i'll be as heavy as you dude!

P.S. - sorry for hijacking this thread

Thats the post i was referencing when i first got my set... That guy was able to do the 15mm because he had ZERO additional weight up front.... Trust me... our trucks are HEAVY up front.... these coils need 700lb coils min. to get away from preloading them so much. Luckily, they ride fantastic even with my 30+ mm

    Also... Dug this up https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ssor-needed-for-preload.601774/#post-20238344

its easy to make, but also, there are people who are using other methods to achieve adjustment... There's more than one way to skin a cat

    Good stuff...
I do a fair amount of wheeling and camping. I want to retain as much travel as possible while achieving as much lift as possible. Should i go with a happy medium of like 25mm? or would you recommend i go full 30mm? I prefer to set them one time and forget it.

Are you running any spacers? I got the default OME 20mm spacer for the drivers side lean. Just considering another 1/4"

Appreciate your inputs. It's all a little overwhelming :)
