Because manual transmissions can operate using the same oil as vehicle differentials.

I have a 2017 trd sport with the 6 speed manual transmission- running redline in the tranny and transfer case at the moment but are yall saying the Ford stuff is even better? I have no qualms about switching to the ford stuff if it will help the truck shift even better (especially reverse and 1,2 at times)

I just put in Amsoil yesterday and it works way better than whatever was in it before. I did everything except front differential because I couldn't find my hex socket...GRRR. I've got some work to do tonight.

Did mine this past weekend with Amsoil. Transmission and both diffs. I've noticed a huge difference in the 400 miles I've done since changing them. Everything is much smoother and my whining rear diff is now nearly silent.

Wait until you get a whiff of the T case fluid. Gear lube smells great by comparison.

Yeah the diff oil was SMELLY. that sounds horrible to me. How often do you change T case? I have probably done 300 miles at most in 4wd

The T case is always spinning, just like the diffs.

I did it at 6,700mi just because I swapped the transmission and diffs. The original T case fluid came out looking pretty much new. It definitely didn't need to be done:

I'm good to go with whatever the maint schedule says going forward.

@Omar RVA a big thanks for posting this. I changed out the MTF at 580 miles and unreal how shiny it was. Metal flakes galore. I only drove a few miles to see if there was much of a difference and it does seem to go into 1st from 2nd a bit easier when coming to a stop now.
