Either the @RCI-Offroad one is perfectly placed (possible)
Or I've bashed it so hard it's in the right place now (probable) :D

I would pick the former on that option! But I am also glad to hear that the location has not shifted due to the "bashing"! :muscleflexing:

I changed my MT fluid with Redline MT-90 and almost all of the "crunchiness" shifting into 2nd and 3rd has gone away. So far, I am very happy with it.

It's good stuff. Mine started telling me to swap again after about 40k on the fluid. Simple enough for the slick shifting rewards.

Thanks for the great write up. I just did mine today. At 60,000 miles my fluids looked fantastic! I couldn’t believe it. It was like brand new fluid dumping into my catch. The only metal was a little tiny bit on the front diff plug. Overall I am very happy with this experience.

Just did my trans, t-case, and rear diff (front diff will be next week's project). Mileage is 31000.

All fluids looked a lot more exceptional than I thought they would. There was some expected metal on the drain plug of the rear diff. Here's a pic of the drain plug and the fluid on its way out of the diff - was way surprised how golden it was.

A little note - I know it's more than likely a placebo but on my test drive, the transmission felt like a dream. While I've never really felt that the shifting was "notchy" I've always had complaints about clutch engagement as many have, I noticed it was way easier and smoother to engage the clutch...which is odd because I know I touched nothing to do with the clutch. Maybe I was just "in the zone" with my shifts.

To be fair if you put high quality transmission fluid in like Amsol, the shifts are a little nicer.

I used Redline! Drove it again today and it really feels a lot better. Feels like it takes less "rubbing" of the clutch for the engine and trans to come up to speed together in 1st gear. And the shifts between each gear feel more forgiving. It's odd - I expected no difference.

Redline MT fluid has been doing great things for me for a couple decades now. I expect it to do the great things that it does.

Redline MTL has been my choice for the NV3550 in my Jeep TJ for the last 12 years. I've not used Redline products in my auto trans Tacoma, but if I had a 3rd pedal it would definitely be Redline! I'm a fan of Amsoil for most other lubes besides engine oil.

I definitely believed it to be high quality - but I didn't think it would make any sort of change in the third pedal. Very glad I went for it! I used Red Line MT90 on the trans, and 75w85 GL5 in the diff.

T case I went with the Toyota stuff - worth noting that I only needed ONE 1L can from the dealer. The extra .1L of capacity must not be able to be drained.

It is weirdly good. Folks say similar things about the Motorcraft stuff. I know that it has solved shifting issues for me on other cars.

Yep. The T case fills perfectly with 1.0L, and I would recommend the Toyota stuff also and not worry about it for at least 90k intervals.

OREILLY'S currently having a 15% off sale and free shipping for most orders over $35. Just picked up some Redline gear oil since i'm planning on changing the diffs pretty soon, was $19.99/qt before using the promo code and the total was just over $100 for 6qts.
