Has anyone try to put a group 31 in the spare location using off grids auxiliary tray?

I wire up switches like this for boats all the time. They work well

One of these will split charging to both batteries

Would there be any issue running your batteries in parallel? That would give you massive amperage. What's the need of the relay? Correct me if I wrong but, the mount and the cables for parrallel mount should be all that's needed right?

All dual battery systems run the batteries parallel. If they was in series you’d have a 24v system. The purpose of the smart isolator or rely is to have capability to separate the 2 batteries. That is the advantage of the relay, keep your starting battery from going dead, and just use the aux battery to run any extras you have (fridge, lights etc..)

so that being said you don’t need the relay, you would just have one big ass battery with a lot of Ah. But no safety net.

Total noob here... but on my passenger side behind the air unit I have an anti lock brake module. Does everyone have this located here, or just me?? If so, do you mount the battery above it?

You can't run it there on a sport. You can do a side by side dual battery or a second battery in the cab or bed.

This is the worst part about a sport. I have one as well and it bummed me out. I think it looks cleaner to have the battery on the other side

This is my DIY Dual Battery setup... cost about $900 with everything including the 115AH AGM battery and even the sound deadening mat.

Nice set up. When i do my dual battery set up i want them separated. Because i didn't want 2 group 34s, with only 68AHs. i was going to use a group 27f or group 31, along with a normal size starting battery.

Agreed, that was my thought process as well. I actually have a group 31 Northstar for my starting battery... between the 2, I feel pretty good about my available power. ;)

So far, I don't haha. I went on an 8 night camping trip (moving between sites everyday) and had no issues running my dometic 55 fridge and camp lights, ect.... Average battery voltage was 12.6-12.7 every morning.
