@IcemanPNW I have the 2019 "86100-04163" with a 9" screen. Looking for a 2021 or 2022 Entune 3.0 Premium non-JBL with Navigation with the correct fitment for the conversion to 3.0. I went into a Toyota Dealer and Parts department to try and confirm the model, and they could not confirm. They said they do not get the specs and descriptions, only part numbers. Called 3 other parts departments who said the same.

Been doing google searches and contacting eBay sellers with no success.
Some eBay sellers say their unit has navigation, but when checking, it just has the apps suite for carplay with Maps and Waze, but no navigation. Not sure why it's so hard to find out this information.

Any chance you or anyone else may know the model number(s) for the 2021 or 2022 Entune 3.0 Premium non-JBL with Navigation that would replace the "86100-04163" with a 9" screen?

    Any info is appreciated.

Pretty sure what you’re after is the 86140-04200.

    Bunch of notes about this:

    * I’m just another Taco fan, I don’t have any inside info other than aggregating data from other Taco fans … I might be wrong about some details :)
    * I don’t think there’s any OEM head unit with a 9” screen…
    * The Entune 2.0 86100-04163 model you mention I think has a 7” screen … screen is measured from corner to corner on the digital part of the display only
    * The Entune 3.0 86140-04200 has an 8” screen (pic below)
    * I think the 86140-04200 is the same p/n for both 2021 and 2022
    * The head unit and the nav box are separate parts; many sellers selling pulls don’t know or don’t care, and keep them together, but some do and separate them. Because many don’t know it might be hard to get a straight answer depending on the seller.
    * I retrofitted the 86140-04200 in my 2019 (3rd different Entune unit I tried) that’s what’s currently in there, probably my favorite OEM head unit so far, have had it for about 2 years now.

Thanks @IcemanPNW. Thanks for letting me know re the screen size.

What did you have to do to retrofit the 86140-04200 for your 2019?

    thanks

No problem! Check out this thread, there’s a ton of details: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/new-2020-head-unit-buying.593658/

Bottom line it’s pretty much plug and play, you just need to get an adapter harness and to be aware of the (very few) slight oddities with the retrofit.

Based on this, I have an entune 3.0 premium (w/ JBL). Does anyone else find the head unit to be slower than the evolution of earth upon boot up?

Does anyone have information on Entune 3.0 headunits that do not have Carplay or Android Auto?

Here in Guam, all 2020+ Tacoma still do not have Carplay/AA, but they are equipped with Entune 3.0. I think it might also effect every other Toyota with Entune 3.0 here.

Could it be a software issue or missing hardware? If it is software, can I do the update through Techstream?

I will be getting my friends 3.0 headunit and will open it up to document any differences.

Some of the early 2018 Sienna head units are Entune 3.0 and don’t have Carplay, but that’s fixable with a large update over USB…

It’s gotta be a software thing and since you mention every other Toyota it makes me wonder if it’s a regulatory issue. Is CarPlay not legal in Guam?

Carplay and AA are completely fine here. Most Hondas here since 2016 have had Carplay as standard, most Hyundai/Kia/Ford that I have ridden in too.

Only the local dealer that handles Toyota/Lexus seems to not have Carplay/AA. I do not know if it also applies to Chevy/ and BMW, which they also are dealers for.

For the Entune 3.0 Carplay Update, do you happen to have any info on update file?

If you scroll back to post #3, its all broken down thanks to @IcemanPNW According to the list, it looks like your unit is the "plus" not the premium head unit.

That’s what I was thinking but my manufacturer shows as pioneer and not Panasonic and that breakdown has the model number I have but with Panasonic.

So it’s either a typo on the post or the pioneer 04230 Pioneer is different from the Panasonic 04230

    That’s a new one.

I believe the main difference between the Plus and the Premium is the Plus doesn’t have integrated navigation (the Map button goes to some janky thing that needs your phone to work)…. While the Premium has a true integrated nav system that works entirely independent of your phone or the internet.

    Do you have integrated Nav?

I bought this unit, and the autoharness to match. I installed this morning, but I do not see the apps like Weather, Stocks, Yelp. Did I lose those when I switched from my Premium 2.0 to this Plus 3.0?

    Entune 3.0 Plus (8" screen)
Manufacturer: Fujitsu Ten aka Denso Ten
    Part Numbers: 86140-04230

Yea, looks like the so called Entune App Suite is only available on the Premium head unit.

So you’ve probably got an updated version (Entune 2.0 to 3.0) that added CarPlay and Android Auto, but downgraded trim (Premium down to Plus) with fewer features on the headunit itself.

Got a 86140-04200 head unit scheduled to arrive Wednesday. I have the donor VIN as it was from a parts place. Will that work to try to activate apps. I assume maybe the original owners truck is totalled. Anyway to get it to link my VIN?

Received an installed tried adding the VIN for the donor truck into the toyota app to add a new vehicle and it gave an error. Googling the VIN does show the donor truck was totalled and sold at auction. Im thinking the original owner never removed the truck from their account. Any ideas on work arounds?
