Im not sure as i am not sure what apps there are. Thought it may be useful if I could get the Toyota app to connect with the upgraded radio and nice to try and get the most features i can out of it

Just wanted to clarify here before I spend all my money….

I have a 2019, premium audio non-JBL. Looking to upgrade to a navigation capable 2020+ HU. 86140-04200 is what I’m after? Pic below, looks like it has the gps unit?

I think I know the answer, but is there any way to use the nav unit (lower portion below main head unit) from my 2019 for a non nav capable 2020+ unit?

Is there any rhyme or reason to which trucks have which particular head unit, or is it purely an option? I’ve seen a few wrecked SR5s where a nav unit was pulled from them. I wouldn’t think a lower trim model would have nav and a higher model wouldn’t, but this seems like Toyota made it as difficult/confusing as possible

Does the navigation unit, do the weather on it? Mine has a cd , Sirius but not sure if it has the navigation or not . I think I had the premium unit in my Sr5 but not sure it’s the 3.0 or not.

I would go with an aftermarket, I did and only thing I miss is the receiving text messages through the entune.

I swapped mine out for an aftermarket unit not long after I bought my truck.
I just recently sold my factory 3.0 entune deck to someone that's posting on here.
He should have it on Tuesday.

I suppose you could see if a screen protector that goes on wet makes the scratches bearable.
Otherwise, do your research on Crutchfield.Com for aftermarket units that fit the truck.

2017 SR access cab, just replaced 86140-04160 Entune 2 Basic with an Entune 3.0 Plus 86140-04230.
USB, apple CarPlay, steering wheel controls and backup camera all work.

Odd thing is can't set time on radio.
Go to clock settings and does not display any numbers nor change when hitting +/- .
    Anyone else see this behavior?
Is it safe to do a factory reset on radio if not in original vehicle?

What brand harness did you use to adapt to Entune 3.0?

Short answer is because 2017 SR didn't have GPS antenna.

Their full answer that worked like a charm to set radio clock.

Great! We do see the clock setting issue occasionally. You can probably fix it using the hidden menu in the Toyota. We have a YouTube video on how to do this here:
