Hello, i have a 3rd gen 2016 taco with 108k miles and recently ive been getting the codes:
    P2402
    P2401
    P2419
    P043f
    P043e

it keeps coming up as the evap canister. At first i changed the pump and after 3 days the lights come back on (check engine and trac off). I noticed that the trac off light turns off if i hit 31mph+ but always comes back on after you slow down.

i have put on the whole charcoal evap canister from a junker and still get the same problem so i took it to the dealer and they scanned it and told me it was the evap canister (i already knew this since i scanned it at home and changed the part) so i had to buy a new one this thursday and installed it but today sunday the light comes back on.

its a frustrating process after spending time and money and the problem doesnt get resolved but i have yet to take down the tank and inspect the fuel lines for leaks my self even though the dealer said they “checked the truck for leaks” and cant find anything. Theres something wrong with the truck and the evap canister is not it.

has anyone encountered this problem and had success in fixing it? Thanks

Stop overfilling gas tank. Mist of the times I've ran into evap issues its either spiders and webs in the canister and or lines. You can get a smoke tester at HFT and check for leaks. I would go over everything blow it out and re install.

Yes, i cleaned them and are not hung up or bent. I have a suspicion that this might be a rat problem biting the lines but i havent checked. I’ll probably do it today or tomorrow.

The best way to find the leak, a smoke machine is needed. Sometimes mice eat the plastic lines on top of the tank.

Just got back from deployment and im ready to “try” and fix it. Can i stick a smoke canister line down the gas fill cap? A mechanic told me i would have no problem but i jist dont want my truck to catch on fire. I know i have to do it as close to an empty tank as possible.

has anyone had this problem and resolved it?
