3rd gen factory roof rack

    I really like the way the factory rack looks, but I have an access cab and it's not available, so if you have one could you look and see if I could shorten it by cutting a section out of the middle? I know the cross bars store in the side rails, but maybe they could be stored elsewhere. some measurements and opinions would be helpful, thanks, Dan

    Does the access cab even have the mounting points in the roof?

    Remember, one end of each crossbar is anchored; they swing from storage position to cross-roof position. One side pivots at the front the other at the back. I've not tried, but I don't think they come off the pivots easily, so if you were to in some manner modify a set to mount onto an AC truck you'd have to leave them deployed cross-roof all the time.

    IMHO it's probably better to look for an aftermarket solution (Thule/Yakima) specifically designed for the Access Cab roof.
