I was wondering if a set of 2016+ shocks and coils would fit on a 2008. I've read that the 3rd gen coils and shocks would fit but read mixed reviews if they actually provide lift to a 2nd gen truck. So simple question is how much of a difference would it make if the 3rd gen were installed on a 2nd gen. The 08 I'm referencing is all stock but have a set of 3rd gen takeoffs that are newer with less miles, and would like to throw them on the 08.

Edit: Asking for a family member who has a 3rd gen set who just recently picked up a 2nd gen
