Hey all, i’ve been looking at getting some different headlights for my 2023 sr5, and everywhere I look I see headlights that are labeled under certain years. I see some that are 2016-2021, and I was just wondering if there is any difference between the different years in terms of the headlights.

When you way "different", what do you mean by that, and why. Really the only headlights you should consider are the OEM LED units which will require a special harness depending on the exact lights that are in your Tacoma. If you just feel you need more light on the road then, by all means, do the H9 bulb upgrade for your low beams, which is twenty dollar mod and you might be happy.

i already bought h9 and h11 bulbs, and i found some projector style headlights with black casing and clear side reflectors, but it says it only fits 2016-2021. was just wondering if all 3rd gens are the same and if i could put it on my 2023

Different trim models came with different headlights. Higher trims had the LED DRLs and the SR had incandescent bulbs for DRLs. I would definitely stick with an OE assembly of some sort.

I see, so if it fits with a 2021 sr5 then it would fit with a 2023 sr5?

No difference between 21 and 23 when it comes to headlights. Companies just don’t update the model years when they list the product

I have a 2023 TRD Sport with the OEM LED Headlights from the factory and they are far the best headlights I have ever had. If you can find the correct harness I thoroughly recommend spending the money for a set.
