Ordered my GE Megalight Ultra +130 H11 on January 15 and again on January 24 (one set each) off Amazon.

Both orders arrived today and I installed them in the LB and fogs. Took a short drive this evening and did notice an improvement from stock. Several places where I normally use HB, I just left the LB on and could see fine. Love the light output and color difference.

Thanks again @crashnburn for all your help and information.

    Avoid like the plague.

Silverstars and any blue coated bulb greatly reduce output by filtering out the bulk of the light (yellow) to make the minority of the light (blue) have a greater effect on the color. Result is reduced output, usually less than stock but whiter, shorter bulb life, and paying for way overpriced bulbs.

You precisely described my short lived experience with Silverstars. Big mistake.

I know you guys didn't expect it to stop there!

I have the final performance H9 bulbs in-route, just waiting on arrival. This month I will scientifically prove what is the best performing bulb on the planet for the Tacoma projector.

@crashnburn80 - Thank you so much for the incredible write-up!

One stupid question because I'm a bit overwhelmed reading the entire thread - It sounds like the H11 GE +130 are the way to go for me. While I will be trading longevity over the stock bulbs (150 hours versus 2000 hours) the lighting is exponentially better. So just to confirm, the GE's are "plug and play"? No special harnesses?

    Thanks!

They’re plug and play because they’re both H11 bulbs. H9s require the extra bits for LB use, but not HB (since HBs are H9s).

As mentioned the GEs are plug and play. If you went the Hella route, you would need to trim the bulb connector. 2000 hours is HID life at 35w, however the XD ballasts were 40w+ so life would be shorter. Standard long life H11s are around 1000 hours.

GE 130's are sold out on Powerbulbs. I would assume due to TacomaWorld haha Guess I'll have to wait for mine!

Wouldn’t be the first time Tacoma World has wiped out product supplies!

Yep. Or you could run the Hellas in the lows with a bit of bulb modification.
