They won’t in H9. The Racing Vision +150 have been available for years in other bulb types but not H11 and they are just now bringing the +150 Pro to H11. Seems unlikely we’ll see a GT200 in H11 anytime soon, but it would be nice to be wrong!

Resisters are another easy method to solve the problem. Resisters increase circuit load by converting power to heat so they get hot and tend to be failure prone over time. Replacing the flasher relay with one calibrated to the reduced power draw on the circuit is a cleaner and more robust solution that is less failure prone. It addresses the source of the issue.

NOTE: These below are examples, I have not validated fitment of these models for a Tacoma.

Example of an LED calibrated flasher relay:

    This looks interesting:

Lol I didn't recommend the relays for that exact reason. The relay fixes sometimes don't play nice with vehicles with DRL so you have to be specific with them. Calling up DD directly would probably be a best bet. I just don't know either.

Good call on the DRL issue! Hadn't considered that and not sure if it would be affected with the OEM LED DRLs vs incandescent versions. Agreed it would be best to ask DD directly.

I have been thinking of getting the JDM ASTAR Turn Signals, and eventually will upgrade my tail lights to these Akkon fixtures. i know this is the headlight thread, but since we are talking about it...

sounds like i would not need a resistor/relay for just replacing the turns in the headlight housings, but would need something if i do the rears also. is that correct? or will i need something even if i am just changing out the headlight turns to led?

All I changed was my brake lights to LED. Signals work normal with the Headlights off as soon as I turn the headlights on I get the hyper flash in the signals even though I have not changed the turn signals yet.

They might need to send you a commission or something if these are good. I'll be looking at these pending your testing. I'd love to go full LED Assemblies but cost involved. Someday.

Coming from HID, you’ll likely be happier with the H9 swap.

LOL. I can often get discounted, free or loaner products, but seems not worth the effort for the cost of some halogen bulbs. I’m sure if they perform better than the GEs, the Philips Pros will soon be on backorder.

Did you change the bottom or top bulb. You shouldn't be getting hyper flash from a brake bulb change. Ive been running led auxbeam red bulbs in my brake lights no issues. But recently found out that with my parking lights on my turn signals arent working and I just put leds in them as well. So i gotta figure that out lol. But I also don't hyper flash cuz i installed a resistor. Turn signals in tail lights work fine when my parking lights are off though

When modifying the H9 bulbs, is it okay to have a small amount of the internal tab left at the very bottom? I can't take it all out because there's a section of raised material around the two terminal connectors that prevents me from getting all of it, granted it's only maybe 0.02-0.03 thick. I haven't had the chance the test for on truck yet but just curious if it's really that critical to remove all of it, or just most. Thanks in advance!

If it’ll plug in, it’s fine to leave it. If it won’t, keep cutting. I used a grinding bit on a dremel so I just made it flush.

I have been reading your thread for quite some time since last night... I had to skip ahead after page 75 I think! Great review and seriously detailed, what I imagine is a huge amount of work! Oustanding and thank you so much for putting in the time for all of us on the forum @crashnburn80 .

I was all set to buy some of the GE +130 H11 or the GE Xenon +120 H11 to replace my LB bulbs in my 2019 SR5. I can't seem to find a Canadian source for these anywhere online, Not Canadian Tire, not even Amazon.com, or Amazon.ca - Unless imported from France... at $80 + tax, shipping possible duties and import fees...

Do you know any Canadian sources for these bulbs? Does anyone reading this post have any Canadian source for these bulbs? I would appreciate any feedback, thanks! I can't believe how much I want these now after reading through this thread. I thought I was stuck with the factory bulbs forever!
