I also rec’d the “drop ship direct from hella” email. TW doesn’t fool around when a good product arises. Hopefully Hella isn’t back ordered. Lol

I SOOO want to put these in tonight but if I do....they won't be coming out afterwards!

    TOMORROW NIGHT IS THE TEST!

BTW for the folks that may or may not know about halogen bulbs, DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH YOUR BARE FINGERS!

@crashnburn80 ....pls correct me, but folks should probably use some sort of gloves to make sure the oils from your fingers DO NOT touch the bulb....I have done this with every bulb in the past few years but something folks might not know about.

Thanks! Closest I've been is driving through Houston a few years back on a road trip from Tallahassee to Seattle.

That is some speedy shipping from the UK!

I don't think you are going to want to take them out for at least 150 hours of runtime. :)

Gloves are a good idea. You definitely do not want to touch the glass. I keep a bottle of isopropyl alcohol around so if I accidentally do touch any bulbs, I just wipe them down with alcohol to remove any skin oils and put them back in.

So I always did know this about the oils from your fingers, but I never understood why? What actually happens? Does the oil some how go through the glass to the filament?

Oil from your fingers causes hot sports on the bulb which then cause the filament to burn unevenly leading to reduced life. You want uniform temperatures for maximum filament life.

For those of you who ordered the Hella’s from rallylights.com could you post pics of the boxes front and back please! There’s some I’ve found on eBay and Amazon that will save a little $$$ on shipping but I want to be sure they’re the correct ones

I wonder how many Rally had on hand even after the warning given to get more. I have not gotten the drop ship[ email yet and my order still says pending. I thought they would beat the GEs here but maybe not.

Not certain, I know they were out of stock and ordered more, but I don't think anyone actually takes my warning seriously when I tell them that.

When I ordered my Hellas it took 5 work days for the drop ship to Calif. They are one of the best mods you can do for your truck. And when you see someone's LEDs on you know the Hellas were the right choice.

Yeah, the lux numbers at 18' are pretty telling. But these are hot spot numbers, these numbers don't factor that the LED hot spot is shifted downward to shift the pattern toward the vehicle reducing distance projection, and also doesn't factor the significant LED performance drop when measured over longer distance due to lack of focus further reducing distance projection. Meaning these numbers actually make the LED look a lot better than it actually is. Yet the correctly engineered solution drastically outperforms the LED and extends distance projection, while costing 1/6 the price.

I think you may be confusing the GEs with the Hellas. The GEs are good to go, but I’d have two sets of them on hand given how they’re not marketed for great lifespan.

I think he was just sharing that his bulbs arrived. :)

Here was a great post from @ceedless on his impression of the GEs, after taking out his drop-in LED headlights and putting the GEs in:
