High Beam: Hella Osram Hyper H9s
Low Beam: Hella Osram Hyper H9 (if you don't mind trimming the plastic internal tab on the bulb) or GE +130 for plug and play
    Fogs: GE +130

For the low beam the Hellas will provide a bit more of a higher intensity fuller pattern where as the GEs will be more center focused for distance projection. Hot spot intensity is similar. The GEs are a little whiter at 3500k in color then the Hellas are 3200k. Both are outstanding options and you cannot go wrong either way.

Some like to color match their low beams and fogs, meaning:
    Low: GE+130, Fog: GE +130
    or
Low: Hella Osram Hyper H9, Fog: Volsa H11 +120: https://store.candlepower.com/voh111sbrli.html

The Volsa's are not as bright as the GEs or Hellas, but they are the best plug and play option to color match the Hellas.

So far, the LEDs in my 4Runner don't seem that bad. I won't argue that their not optional in halogen protectors. When another car with factory LEDs is beside me on the highway, they don't appear to be illuminating anything further away than I am. :notsure:

Is the light output of the blue coated hella h9’s still superior to stock h11’s?

Should be, since the H9 puts out much higher output. But the blue coated ones will not match the output of the clear ones, and the coated ones will have shorter life.

No, these are the H11 GEs:

Great write-up @crashnburn80. For the past 3 years I've wondered what the heck causes the "bounce," which became much more pronounced once I installed my HID lights. Seeing that the projectors themself may be loose seems like the only logical explanation, considering the bulbs are clearly secured and have no play between them and the housing (at least in my case.) I guess this gives them that much more of a reason to pull the OEM housings apart and drop in a worthy replacement projector with high beam capability.

This is a great post and my deepest appreciation to the OP for all the work he’s put into it. I read through most of the first post but ran out of time and will have to revisit. In the mean time can someone just break it down and basically let me know before I head out for my first long trip, if you had to go to the auto parts store and buy a replacement bulb, which would be a good choice for a 2019 Taco?

    Thanks in advance...

If it were my preference, Sylvania Ultras. They are better performance wise than the ZXE.
