From my recent talks with Dave the 2021 oem led would be the best way to go. After that a better H11 or use the H9 modified for the low beam and then the Toshiba 9011 for the DRL.

I’ve noticed this for a few weeks but never stopped for a photo of it. I have the Tungsram Nighthawk Platinum h11’s in my fogs and low beams.

The blue filter on the bulb creates a section of blue tinted light in the fog pattern:
    EF02BF9D-F7EE-4F39-BA51-70377A8B9BA7.jpg

On the low beam pattern, it appears more like a “hole” in the output as the blue gets washed out by the fogs and the main spot of the beam pattern.
    FDE23763-46A5-405E-8706-6C243F04D42C.jpg

High beams, hella 700ff x2 with 100w Osram bulbs, still shows the low beam pattern hole.

While the color is more pleasing, I’m going back to untinted bulbs… on my next truck. My Tacoma has a buyer and I’m getting an f150 next week.

No more Taco? Hang around and let’s talk F150 lol. Last one of those I had was an ‘87. Went on some great trips with it but hopefully my Tacoma lasts far longer.

Its a workout for sure. I’m clearing roofs at work today and get to shovel and plow at home tonight. :muscleflexing:

Unfortunately the F150 headlight platform is poor, for both OEM LED and halogens. So lighting is going to be a noticeable downgrade from the Tacoma. Obviously easy to add aux high beam lights, but improving the low beam is a real challenge. @toledoupsguy can vouch for it.

@crashnburn80 9168C42C-CFD6-4A46-8E64-70DB6D405C73.jpg The 2021’s have a different headlight than the 2020’s, hoping I can get good enough low and fog performance out of a bulb upgrade (h9 and h10 respectively) and 9011 in place of the 9005 high beams.

Maybe @Diode Dynamics can get the new f150’s set up for SS3 fogs and a light bar mount for the STX grill eventually…

Hopefully it's easier than the previous generation where you have to remove the front end to swap out the uncommon bulb type.

Unfortunately, it’s the same procedure as the 2015-2020 trucks and requires dropping the fender liners to access the bulbs.

    Fog light bulb question here.
I’m trying to keep stock fog lens-I did swap out my 2021’s for 2019’s models for H9 acceptance.

I’m looking for H9 or H11 bulbs that are amber light output. Anyone find and use these? Internet searches not showing much, something like this:

100W for foglights? Seems a bit much.

    Edit:
    For the stock foglights
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-foglight-upgrade-h11-not-led-or-hid.435419/

You might be better off with LED fogs if you really need higher output

Does anyone have a good source for the OEM LED headlights in Canada? I've been running an H9 swap for the past couple years but I'm ready to move on to a bigger upgrade. 2020 TRD OR so I think it should be fairly straightforward with a conversion harness.

brands I’m familiar with , however I’d purchase the entire kits that come with everything not just part swap , plus both companies have life time warranties if you buy through them direct . Both brands mentioned above are in opinion decent companies
