Thank you for all the hard work @ crashnburn80. Looking forward to the comparison between the two Philips bulbs. If they are identical then they are a slightly better alternative to the Hella H9/Osram Hyper.

If they are identical then standard German Philips bulbs are better than the Hellas.

I also have it from a credible source that the Hellas are in fact not manufactured by Osram and are not part of the Hyper series. Doesn't mean they are not a good bulb, they test better than the standard Osrams, but it appears the information on Rallylights site is inaccurate.

I'll be very interested to see what the testing reveals. I switched from standard Phillips H9's to the GE +130's in my low beams and the GE's are definitely superior based on what I can see driving down the road. Might it be that focus and a small precision element is more important to output in a projector than outright power? Or is it possible the stock wiring, while sufficient for a 55w H11, is strangling the performance of the nominally 65w but in reality closer to 75w high powered H9's?

Interesting. Were the Philips H9s you used German or Chinese? The Chinese ones seem far more prevalent. I don't think the 20w increase would suffer enough voltage drop on the OEM wiring to make that much of a difference.

    Made in China.

Also I checked my stock high beam bulbs and they are phillips, made in Germany.

That is interesting. The ones that tested best were made in Germany. I’ll pick up the China ones too for a complete comparison.

Ordered these on 3/22 and they arrived today. Might get around to installing them tonight. Are these still relevant? Having a hard time keeping up with this thread lol

Definitely still relevant, only one to do a little better is the German Philips H9 bulbs, which apparently the 2019s came with in their high beam. So you could swap the German Philips from the highs to the lows, and put the Hellas in the high. Or just swap the lows, but don't remove the German Philips all together to replace with the Hellas as the Philips are just a little better and cost more.

The made in Germany Phillips H9 is the factory bulb in my 2017. The stock lows are Osram.

Hmm, maybe all 3rd Gens had them for highs. Toyota previously used Osram for everything, it is odd they would mix/match suppliers. I'll test all 3 versions of the Philips, China, Germany and supposed 'Vision' to see what the differences are.

Interesting. I didn't have an opportunity last weekend to install the Hellas. I'll have to double check the bulbs I pull out when I do, maybe this afternoon.

Installed the Hylux 6000K HIDS from ebay for the low beams. I posted a short video of the beam pattern and cutoff on my Instagram page: kalashnikov_4774

Mine have them too. Just switched to the Hella H9's for the lows and they are worlds better.

Thanks for checking. I don't have a 3rd Gen and built my own simulated 3rd Gen but my 3rd Gen headlights did not arrive with bulbs. It appears that I incorrectly assumed that Toyota continued using Osram for all their bulbs when it appears they switched to Philips very specifically for their highs. Maybe they tested and realized they'd get better output with Philips than Osram.

Just checked the Hella H9's I got from Susquehanna Motorsports, and they were made in Korea. Is that a problem? Are they worth even installing?
