3rd gen intake has 2 filters... have you removed the non-removable of the two?

alright guys... so the 3rd get has 2 filters on the intake one removable the other not (white filter after the removable). has anyone removed this non-removable filter (cut it out)? I'm thinking of doing it and i wanted to see if anyone else has done it yet and have you noticed any difference?

I'm no car tech however it doesn't make sense to have a non-removable filter as you would then need to replace an entire componet ignorer to get a new clean 2nd filter

 

If the first one does its job, the second one won't get dirty and won't need to get replaced. Not for a long time anyway. Why would you want to remove it? It's not going to flow much more air if that's what you're thinking...

 

It's not a filter. Nearly all vehicles are coming with it now

 

dealer sees that and plan on your warranty being voided...

 

It's not a diesel and it's not turboed. It's doubtful your motor needs help in the airflow department

 

google HCF . Removing it is pointless but if it makes you feel better, have at it. There's no quantitative benefit.
